A buddy of mine had an Addams Family pinball game in his basement. So badass.

One day, I'll have a garage or shop or something and I will get one.
Right now I live in an apartment and it would be such an irresponsible thing to own.

$800? for what, a head or stack?
i would pay like $400 max for the head if it was in good condition. It would be a pretty good amp but 800 seems way high unless this includes a good cab.

Is it 240V or 220V? If not just buy the head from the states and get a cab from here somewhere they go for like $200 in the USA and you'll just have to buy a Stepdown convertor from Jaycar. That's like what at least 1000 bucks with the particle, totally not worth it for what it is. With a cab it's still not worth it

I'd say don't rush into anything.
Buy something rad that you really want, for a good price, and whether it takes days or months, you'll be happier with the purchase.

A guy I used to work with has five or so pinball machines in his roughly 700 square foot condo... plus several more in the common room in the basement. Although he is quite possibly the most irresponsible person I know, he's currently unemployed and many thousands of dollars in debt.

When I have a bigger place, I'm totally going to try to track down an affordable pinball machine myself though. So much fun.

There's a valvlestate head and cab on gumtree for $800 negotiable, should I hit it?

EDIT: with cabs, is it the size of the speaker that makes it appropriate/inappropriate for bass or what?
Nah man, fuck that.
See if they'll seperate the head, don't pay anymore than $350 for it (and at that price it would want to be the 80w head, or larger, and in mint fucking condition).
Save up, get a used Orange 4x12 (spend your $800 or so there and never spend it again), be happy, chug out.

Listening to Eyehategod makes me want an Ampeg SS150....more so.
Yeah $800 is a bit much for a Valvestate. It's a good amp and all but not used for $800. You could get something better for that.

My GAS is out of control right now. Especially for dirt. I want too much. I have found myself wanting a Fuck go full fanboy.

I also want a Dungeon Master and I'm getting the idiot box box again just to play it some more. I'm going to find a setting I really like and then see how close I can get with my current pedals. If I can't get it, then I definitely want one.

I've also been wanting to try a compressor lately, just to see what the deal is. Maybe an Accountant.

I also really want a Ditto. Don't want to give up the real estate for the X2, but the separate foot switch is a must for me.

Also really want a bass whammy.

And the usual, Polytope and Raptio. One day.

Gotta cross the International Date Line for that one....

:picard:

Anyway, good call Tom.
I too go apeshit with gear purchases when stressed.
Sometimes I think GAS is actually a symptom of depression/anxiety.
