RIP Khan (just learned he was at Chestnut Kill tho in this case it's unlikely they could have done anything to save him) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_szq8vXrQfs
Byard Lancaster (alto saxophone), Khan Jamal (vibraphone), Monnette Sudler (guitar), Billy Mills (bass), Dwight James (drums), Rashid Salim (conga), Omar Hill (percussion) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aewTrUxKW8

i know we've covered Ronnie Boykins already but:
1) i am of the opinion that you can never have enough R.B.
2) this track seems particularly pertinent in light of the recent losses
Love Ronnie Boykins and that record in particular!

ikr?!? there's def some other good RB posted up in here
meantime, what the actual fuck, youtube? if anyone knows anywhere to stream this online, or can post it up on yt i would be extremely grateful. i've got one cut on a big band comp and it is one of the standouts on the whole 5 disc shebang, but i slept on my opportunity to score a copy for a reasonable price
also love that amazing stuff like this takes such low-key form
great band here - interesting to hear Mark Hellas in this type of format
forever love for Blackwell too
Cherry is so lyrical here, and Murray does a nice job of hoving to Don's style while still sounding completely David Murray....
Nice find! (even tho I'm subscribed to that channel, yt doesn't see fit to rec anything from it. as far as yt is concerned the only music i wanna hear is on Terminal Passage )
