What do you do to your hair to keep it in curls?
Mine is really curly but now it's also down to my man-nipples (if I pull on it, anyway) and it's starting to just get frizzy on top and stuff.

YES I HAVE SO MANY ANSWERS FOR YOU THIS IS PERFECT.

okay so all i do is never ever wash my hair ever and detangle it every few months. (i'm totally serious about the detangling part. i lost my brush last semester and i still don't care. ) in the shower i rake conditioner through it while it's sopping wet, usually before i get out, then turn my head upside down and shake it a little bit to allow the curls to clump. i use a turbie twist towel thing mainly so my hair doesn't get my clothes wet.

but frizz is caused usually by two things: damage (dryness) or curls not clumping all the way. think of how when you comb your hair dry it turns into an afro man. so like don't do that. comb it only with your fingers and keep it moisturized and it should be mostly frizz free. some frizz is awesome tho.

also you might just need to clarify it if you use a lot of chemicals on it and shit. just rinse it with some vinegar mixed into cold water. it doesn't smell like vinegar after a few hours.

BUT YOUR MILEAGE MY VARY. my hair is extremely dry and this is what works for me. it took me like most of my life to figure this shit out.

I do wash my hair every time I take a shower, but I only use shampoo on my scalp, and I do the conditioner rake thing and then wash it out at the end. I brush it before showering to get rid of all the loose hairs, but yeah, brushing it any other time is the worst decision ever. Sometimes I'll spray a little anti-frizz jank on it but I try to keep that to a minimum.
I'll try fingers-only for a while and see if that helps. My hair is always really dry too. It seems like even after I get out of the shower, it isn't as wet as it should be.

no prob! just try not rinsing the conditioner out and not using shampoo for a while. i only use dr bronners for all of my soaping needs so if my hair gets scuzzy i'll just put some foam on my scalp but that's sooo rare i couldn't even tell you how often i have to do that shit. if you're using anti frizz shit it's probably made of silicones so you will definitely need to clarify and stop doing that! silicones build up on the hair shaft and make it dull and prone to frizzing.

make sure you drench your hair like fuck until it feels wet, then rake in the conditioner, then don't rinse that shit. let me know how it works out!
