Still working my way through Deux Ex, taking forever since I'm going no kill/sorta stealth (but still knocking out everyone I come across for extra xp )

I was ultra-stealthy but psychotic, killed everyone I could pretty much, silenced pistol headshots ftw. I've had the urge to play it again over the last few days, except I don't see myself doing anything different this time around. I guess a no kills no alerts game would be cool.

It was a great game but I dunno if it has that much replayability. The mechanics are FUN and there's a lot of stuff in all the levels, but you are just doing the same levels again. I've played the first DX game 3 times since I first got it last year, and I still want to play it loads, because it forces you into using a more specialised character, whereas in HR they give you enough praxis points to get every upgrade.. And by the end of that I had about 10 left because I didn't WANT any of the other upgrades. They did screw that up a bit, along with being able to use any weapon equally well, I missed the weapon skills from the first game. And needing to use multitools/lockpicks a lot more in DX meant the amount you had left actually impacted which route you took, and in HR you can just hack anything for no cost... You can limit yourself on upgrades (I did because I thought all the stealth ones were stupid and would make sneaking too easy), but the weapon thing bugged me.

I bet if they hadn't called it deus ex I wouldn't care about the weapon thing, but the comparison hurts the game. Although if they hadn't called it deus ex I almost certainly wouldn't have bothered getting it because it kinda looked like just another modern shooter game. WALL OF OLD GAMES ARE BETTER TEXT.

Beat Dead Island this weekend, now just playing more FIFA.

Looking forward to Skyrim and eventually getting Arkham City. Was excited for MW3 and Battlefield 3 a few months ago but I no longer have any desire to play them, I'm just burnt out on the genre :idk:

I think I may have screwed my build up but I'm progressing steadily.

I've been finding it hard to finish a damn game recently, I'd get started but then get distracted by work, guitar or other things during the week - by the time I can play again on the weekend I don't remember what to hell to do or what I was doing.

I have reset my Dues Ex like 3-4 times, I'm up to the Detention Centre atm.

I'm the kind of person who'd rather suffer a shitty character than start over.

Stealth all the way.
I started off trying for a no kill, but now I am not beyond picking off the headshot (with my silenced/laser-targeting/armor piercing pistol :joy: ) to avoid exposure.
I do tend to prefer the takedown, though.

Yep...I used to be able to grind levels enough that I'd be powerful anyway/start the entire game or build over...but...now I just try to make it work. Hopefully the game isn't broken and you can actually finish it with your weird character.

I shouldn't have a problem finishing it. It's not so much that it's a non-standard build as much as I got some stuff I really shouldn't have.

Yes, it's also my favorite tactic
I'm horrible at flying so my entire air vehicle strategy revolves around "I have a 95% chance of dying anyway so I'm going to hit them with everything in one pass".

From watching my roommate play online, I'm not sure anybody actually knows how to fly jets...it's pretty hilarious to watch.

The only FPS game I've ever really played much was Battlefield Vietnam however-many years ago. Loved it. I'm tempted to pick up BF3, but I don't have a decent PC anymore and I'm not sure it will be as fun on PS3. Anyone have experience in that area?

I feel like my Jensen is sorta overpowered, though I guess I"ll see when I get to the 2nd boss XD
I just got access to the shuttle to get to some med facility in Shengha

I've got max cloak/legs/typhoon and all of the non-useless hacking ones
Icarus/reflex boost, a few other random ones (battery recharge/carrying cap).
...and a few points to burn which I'll probably throw into dermal armor because the electricity resist looks awesome.

Typhoon  Only for bosses though. Using it on normal dudes isn't cool, I literally only got it to breeze through the boss fights because I hated them so much  And I don't really think it's possible to build a character that can't get through the game, you might just have to use a different approach in some parts, and I think that's a cool thing about it.

Yep that's why I went typhoon...I'm doing no kill so I haven't focused on offsensive augs (outside of my ultra modded 10mm).
I figured it might be useful to have something to throw at the bosses if they get harder down the line

10mm plus typhoon is EXACTLY how I played it  except I used that 10mm to pop a lot of heads. I'm getting pretty tempted to play again, no kill style, but shooting people in the head is just so FUN in that game. Like a visceral rush. Dang, I'm a psycho.

Uncharted 3 is so fucking good.....in other news, i told all my friends that MW3 was gonna suck, and they all yelled at me saying it's gonna be the best one yet and blah blah...from what i've read so far, it's TERRIBLE.
