Good lord, that is a ridiculous lineup. I love Nile live. Karl Sanders is so much shorter than you think he will be...

I haven't listened to Nile in a really long time. Actually, I thought they broke up?

Naw, they're still bringing that hyperspeed Lovecraftian Egyptian death metal. :thumb:

8 X EL34 (but only 6 are used as power amps, 2 are phase inverters)
sounds like a killer rig - do you know if the electrolytics are updated/or/ok?
The caps probably need to be changed, (i should get an answer on that today) but my tech can handle that.
from what I've read so far they seem to be over built for touring (which can't be a bad thing)
yet on foreverdoomed I read some guy list them as an amp to avoid... :idk:
I don't need another amp, but one showed up on CL and it seems like an amp I should hit.

That is awesome. Also on that list...the new Sandrider (which you introduced me to) is one of my favorite records of the year. Thank you good sir.
That is a kick ass article. A couple albums I hadn't heard of, too. This Steak album kicks ass.

that's sweet...i'm also really considering tickets to hellfest this year!...not sure if I'm young enough for the camping though!
you can't be that old. human certainty and i did the camping at hellfest a few years ago, in my early 30's. i had a great time. it helps to drink very heavily. you can sleep anywhere!

That list of albums is pretty sweet. A few things on there that slipped my radar to check out as well. But awesome for the AW guys!

Unida live are pretty darn impressive. Garcia is always cool. Acid King were really good when the toured here, too.
When I saw Nile, which was admittedly last decade some time, they were meh. I had high hopes and it just wasn't that great. They brought Decapitated down with them, though, and those guys blew them out of the water. Mindblowingly tight. And really entertaining.

Two decidedly not slow doom metal bands I would LOVE to see... Decapitated and Meshuggah.

Both are incredible.
Meshuggah are highly aware of how ridiculous they look and they play it up on stage. Its hilarious and awesome.
And uncompromisingly broodal!

I've heard nothing but fantastic things in regards to Meshuggah's live show.

Thinking about Nile and Meshuggah has made me realize that I really don't think about"proper" metal bands anymore except for Sepultura and Slayer. Weird.

Yeah I had heard aiming things about Nile previously and was really into them at the time. Maybe they just had an off night?

Yeah man I phased modern metal out of my life at about the same time LoG got huge. It all got very same same about then. And fucking breakdowns in every song....fuck. Sep and Slayer are still the shit. And I don care if it makes me a bogan, but Pantera fucking rules.

I saw Nile with Napalm Death, Dark Tranquility and some other bands in SF in 2002. Pretty much every band killed it that night, but I've never closely followed them as a band. I think I might still have one of their CDs I bought that night. I did dig that they had the ancient Egyptian mythology themes, as it seemed like every other similar sounding band around that time was just gore/horror themed

I wrote another new song the other night. Shooting for getting 5 or 6 done this week, before I go back to work.
