Muddy, ebay has an auto-bid thing set up where if something is at $30 and someone bids on it with their max bid being $97, you have to bid $98 or ebay will automatically bid on their behalf for any value up to that point.

I know this :)* When it is like that it is fast and smooth... vs people trying to beat the way that works...

Yeah, but you can still snipe at the last minute. It's better than placing a bid so the big man with all the cash then knows that someone else is after his shit. He might raise his max autobid thing if he sees that you've placed one.

So I still wait it out.

I'm glad I've never been set up on a blind date. I feel like if that happened, I'd get stuck with a fatty or something. Of course it would be incredibly awkward, but that's just a given.

Exactly, the auction is all about the thrill of the battle. It's no fun if somebody has a magic bidding robot on their side.

 I remember you posting in that thread, and I had a weird suspicion it was somebody from here. Well I'm glad it's a fellow ILFer, not some random jackoff. Yeah, so you're paying $16 more because of me. :p You're not after that vintage fuzz clone too are you?

That doesn't mean I still won't hunt you down though :animal:

i really hate mp3 players. i hate how people keep one earbud in (i'm not an audiophile but earbuds still piss me the fuck off for reasons i don't fully understand) and talk to other people. while listening to music. uhhh... what! you can't focus on the music or the conversation fully that way, so what's the point of doing either? i don't feel the need to have music playing all the time, especially if i'm not going to be actually listening to it. music doesn't function as background noise to me. i feel like more often than not, just playing music makes me talk a lot less. (or talk more by means of rambling about what's playing.)

and when someone with earbuds in asks me to repeat myself it puts me in a feral rage.
