Even though we were super impressed by Regina Spektor on monday, Julie Christmas vocal performance alongside Cult of Luna last night is by far the best live vocal performance I've ever witnessed. CoL were great as always (seen them 7 times now!) but this Julie is like the Björk of metal. I've never listened to any of her own stuff but have really enjoyed the Mariner album. And live. Wow. So good. Insane range and just so cool on stage.
To top it off, having my gf come along to one of her first proper metal/heavy shows and telling me afterwards she absolutely loved it makes things even better. I don't expect anyone I'm seeing to be interested in all the horrible noise I listen to. I mean it's cool if they give it a try once in a while, but this, for someone who doesn't go to shows in general and doesn't like heavy stuff to say this after seeing one of my all time favourite bands is too cool. Yeah, life is good!

I'm having a baby!

Well, not me personally, but my wife is. Due date is May 3rd. This'll be our first, so I'm mildy terrified, but at the same time I'm super excited.

Thanks guys! We've decided to keep the gender a surprise, seems more fun to me that way. I'm currently driving my wife nuts with ridiculous name suggestions.

Should've gone up to him and drunkely accused him of charging thousands of dollars for gooped up pedals.
