Yeah,...Lava seems to carry a bad rep. I've never used them myself.
I like the George L's if I'm honest. Never had any issues beyond the requisite,....didn't get one quite right while doing a pedalboard rewire and have to track it down, which is just a minor irritant for me. Once those are sorted; I've never experienced failures on gigs or anything like that.

All mine broke

I don't know HOW all my shit breaks all the time. You'd think that I throw my stuff across the room

I dunno? Mine have been going strong for about 6 months now. They've long outlived those "guitar center" patches.

I think it's that I switch around my pedals pretty much daily, if not twice a day, so the constant plugging and unplugging is I'm sure not that great

I'm currently using Mammoth's house pancakes, which seem to be tough as shit and really well constructed for how cheap they are. I can't really recommend them enough

For patch cables I use a mix of those free Prymaxe cables they used to include, Planet Waves, and some made by Aaron SS. Oddly enough the George L patch (which I only bought from Prymaxe to increase my total discount for an order) recently failed, while the others are mostly fine and dandy. Again, I am a compulsive re-orderer of pedals, so I'm sure that doesn't help. I have a Lava cable as my main instrument cable, but only ever bought it because it was on sale, 2-for-1. Sounds good to me though.

I use Lava ELC solder free for both my boards. Most of the problems i've run into have actually been the cable not the ends. I'd make a cable and it wouldnt work so I'd redo the ends and try and tidy up the connections, get fed up and just fashion another of the same length just a different piece of cable and whamola it works... soo weird...
