This is why I'm buying up private lakes in the Midwest in preparation of becoming one of the great waterlords of the north.

World population has to do with this Presidential election because it's an important aspect of our foreign policy. Everything's interconnected. Resources, lack of resources, conflicts over resources, resolution of said conflicts, the repercussions of those conflicts, etc, etc.

If we don't give humanitarian aid to people in war-torn countries, they pack up and migrate elsewhere. That causes other problems. One thing leads to another.

Which is a SHIT TON OF PEOPLE.
Also, you can certainly blame countries like India and China for embracing economic growth until population becomes a crippling problem, but the USA (and Australia, and many European countries for instance) are still the highest consumers of energy, food and any other resource per capita, so our population doesn't have to reach into the billions before it starts collapsing in on itself.
Amen to all of this. I would like to add that people in 3rd world countries (or 3rd world conditions in more developed countries with gross income inequality) also procreate because children are the only belongings, the only source of happiness, the only form of wealth they have.

Education of women is crucial, I agree with that link ChetMagongalo posted, but the responsibility can't be only on the women. I just heard a Doug Stanhope routine about African women whose babies kept dying of malnutrition and he basically said "bitch stop fucking and you won't have all those dead kids." I know he's going for shock value, but fuck you Doug; most of those women DON'T HAVE A CHOICE. There's this thing called marital rape, not to mention the people handing out food are hammering God's will into their heads. Blame patriarchy and religion and institutional suppression of birth control, don't blame fragile abuse victims.

Kinda reminds me of this Sam Kinison bit:

Not really that funny of a subject, but humor can be a powerful tool for education if people actually think about what's being said.

Also, w/r/t overpopulation, there is the ever-enjoyable conversation about abortion, birth control, and women's reproductive rights... Not for nothing, the "Adoption" counter argument to abortion is pretty meaningless when you remember A. The millions of already living unwanted children and B. It is pretty ludicrous to bring more unwanted lives into a world whose population has already surpassed its sustainable critical mass by a lot.

Yeah but it feels way better if you don't use protection.

Uhhh how about jerking off and not reproducing? Or if you don't want kids, just get snipped like I did. That way you don't have to worry about having to make a choice about having an abortion or adoption. Just a thought. I know it's expensive, but it's totally worth it. Now according the church I'm still a heathen for getting snipped but they don't have to raise the 5 fucking kids I would have ended up having! I already have 3 and love my girls to death! We were supposed to have 4 though..man I wish I wouldn't have thought of that.

Also, if we are going to kill babies, I vote we kill old people too. I'm tired of them driving so slow and waving their canes at me.

I don't have any kids. I don't have any plans to have any kids in the near future.

I still jerk off manually.
