On the Emanator delay, they mention two MN3005 chips instead of one, so it may be very crisp and clean analog echoes up to the 600ms. Not really my scene, but okay.

yeah, those are all just a touch generic, but ok - nice to have 8 stages if you're into that kind of thing, and the extended speed range on the trem is also nice, but tho tiny (the novelty of which is wearing off for me), there's not a lot else to really get the juices flowing or the mooses lowing....

There's too many new releases in the plugin world right now. It needs to stop.

1) Korg is making native versions of the Opsix & Wavestate for Mac/PC/iOS. They're $150 each, or $50 if you own the hardware. I imagine they'll be included in future bundles as well. (no trial yet in the Korg app) I wasn't really interested in either of the physical keyboards, but having software versions with a panel randomizer is fairly appealing.

2) Bleass revealed Phase Mutant (FM as an effect). You can get some fairly subtle color and movement, or you can do self-oscillating sci-fi sounds.

3) Blinksonic unveiled Collidz last week. (full version of Reaktor required) If you're in need of a chaotic, polyrhythmic, modular-esque sequencer/sound generator, this might be worth a once-over.

It doesn't appear the DL4 V2 is going to offer algorithm swapping, but the new algos aren't bad at all.

Their Euclidean take on the Binson is kind of interesting, and the Glitch bank (lots of chirping octaves) are definitely an upgrade from the V1 sounds.

it'd be nice to string some of these algos together; not sure what hardware limitations come into play there, but i can see you'd pay a cost in interface simplicity

i guess i'll wait to see how combos work before i say more


overall, i liked the OG when i had it, but i think i've just...moved on
[ok - i admit it - *loved* the OG - it was actually what made me fall in love with delays and loopers - i wrote songs and song sections to feature tones i loved in there, changed my playing to accomodate it, over-used it and annoyed my band-mates; eventually succumbed to marketing hype and began to worry it wasn't the *best* sounding delay; gave it to somebody i loved - then moved on]

anyway, fast forward 20 years, would i dump an (already a little long-in-the-tooth) Echosytem or Nemesis for this? erm.... (i already dumped the Nemesis once - so...maybe? but i'm not leaning that way)

but for folks in the market for a $400+ superdelay...you'd have to consider it

otoh, just within the Line 6 offerings, you might also want to consider saving up a little bit more for an HX Stomp if it's delays yer after

the looper - i get why people loved/love it, but i've never not-for-a-long-time felt that way myself, and while it's nice to have the waaay extended loop length, that in itself doesn't feel like a gamechanger to me

be interested to see if other folks get excited about it

i'm definitely sold, but it'll probably have to wait until the next time i start a math rock band.

as far as the range of sounds available it definitely doesn't make sense compared to a HX stomp or whatever, but i think the tactile control / performance aspect makes up for that.
