The megalith is very nuts! It sounds kind of absurd by itself, but in the context of a full band it works really well. Definitely fills up some space.

Gone Fission wrote:I built a Megalith for a gift and it worked for me more than I expected. Angry huge saturated stuff, sure, but still with some touch sensitivity. And excellent rolling it back, too. Good better-than-a-Muff for people like me who don’t like Muffs.
This is a dead on description if I were to describe what a Megalith is and is not. I never liked most Muff's or Muff variants because they just sounded boring (take into account I was only playing bymself) - Once I heard Al Cineros play a Megalith on one of the Shrinebuilder (thanks DOS :joy: ) records I decided to jump on one.

Seeing as I am catching up on years of variants produced over the years, I have no clue what is out there

Our friend Excane did this demo 8 years ago and still its sounds THICC

Al used the megalith on the Shrinebuilder record but afaik he’s never used it on an Om album. The classic records are all 250’s
good deals are here.

Makes since - I fucking love Shrinebuilder, and that's probably when I heard him play it

Always wanted to try a Megalith because I've been in love with Neurosis since 1992. Hmmmmm...

Scott Kelly was in Shrinebuilder. :)

I want to say most of the Neurosis pedals are pretty standard but there's a pretty rad breakdown on YT:

And wasn't it originally built for him?

Also, is Mountainking still making them?

As far as I'm aware, yeah: designed for Him and Wino for that record. Sounds like it's on the bass as well on some stuff but it could also just be the way the album was mixed/recorded.

The Megalith is completely badass!

Check it, cool:

I follow Mountainking on Instagram and he's still makes em. Think in small batches and puts him up on his reverb store...

I just built a copy of a colorsound supa tone bender and idk if it's supposed to sound like this or if I fucked up the build, but hoch hech it is a wall of low end sludge. It's the jumping off point for the V2 dba fuzz war I think? I think there's a much-beloved Skreddy version that I'm now super (supa) curious about.
