This is why they are better than Pantera fans.

Literary are drawn to The Smiths because of the poetry and quality of their lyrics.
Literary is an adjective, you fucking mongoloid. Learn 2 English plz.

This was a typo. I left out the word "people" and have corrected it.

You're not one of those people who equates proper grammar with morality, are you?

Also "mongoloid," ableist terminology. Tsk tsk.

No I equate morality to Smiths fandom, clearly.

^Yes. Exactly. Now we have songs about hating the Smiths and songs about hating NME. This is now a thread I feel happy to have started.
casecandy wrote:Also "mongoloid," ableist terminology. Tsk tsk.
... can I say I forgot to capitalize the M and was simply referring to the way you're laying siege to my "this is a thread for records better than CfH" thread with your Smiths bullshit?

NOW you're getting somewhere

I'm trying to think if there are fandoms I equate with morality.

Okay enough with The Smiths. In my defense I was saying Bona Drag was better than CFH, that was all. Other people trashed The Smiths before I defended them.

Hey, I love Thee Headcoats! But OF COURSE musicians hate the music press, what a fucking cliché. Heaven forbid someone review you or try and narrow your genre down or attempt to hold you accountable for your shitty art

Also, the Julian Cope record I posted is better than the Morrissey record I posted.

(Also this is where I should come out and say that I've never actually listened to a full Smiths song I just like that not-Ween jam a lot).

Flock of Seagulls was a better band, accept it, for you know I am right.
This is a ridiculous statement, and yet I will concede that "I Ran" is a very good song.

FOS was the kind of shit The Smiths were rebelling against.
Well, they failed because they are overly much similar in the grand scheme of things.

Literary people are drawn to The Smiths because of the poetry and quality of their lyrics.
A dead issue,
don't wrestle with it,
deaf ears are sleeping
A guilty bliss,
so inviting (let me in),

nailed to the cross
I feel you, relate to you, accuse you
Wash away us all,
take us with the floods
Then throughout the night, they were raped and executed
Cold hearted world

Your language unheard of,
the vast sound of tuning out
The rash of negativity
is seen one sid edly,

burn away the day
The nervous, the drifting, the heaving
Wash away us all, take us with the floods
Then throughout the day mankind played with grenades
Cold hearted world
And at night they might bait the pentagram
Extinguishing the sun
Wash away man, take him with the floods

You know, the other day, I was spending time with my four-year-old nephew, and I asked him if he wanted some strawberry-rhubarb pie (Maritimes/New England classic that it is).

"No, I don't like that," he said.

"Oh, you tried it?" I countered.

There was a long pause.

"No," he finally said.

"So how do you know you don't like it?"

There was another, prolonged period of silence.

He never answered me.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that there are almost certainly songs you have heard and said "this is not worth my time" and turned off before they are finished. The same way you wouldn't finish a pie of pie had you discovered, upon tasting, that it was not to your liking.

Maybe I should add

line breaks

for emphasis.

I like those lyrics okay, Blackened Soul. A little humourless, maybe? I like my lyrics like I like my life... with a bit of a self-deprecating streak. But they certainly nail bleakness, if that's what they're going for.

Actually whenever someone speaks, it's a new paragraph. Jeez, I thought you were the grammar guy! "Pie of pie," SMH

Anyway, fair enough, I guess. My point was, he never tasted the pie. But the song thing is true

I'm hungry. Pie of pie. forgetting one letter probably more forgiving than forgetting a whole noun.
