I went through a crisis a few years back (as I do, in fact, most years) and bought a skateboard and got myself to doing some ollies and shovits. I hate that I left the board in the netherlands when I moved away, but at least its in a safe place so hopefully I'll be able to skate again in after covid ends and I can go there

Wassup my fuzzers
Still on the board jumping over shit.

I go to a skatepark several days a week now, it's night and day how much shit there is to do there. I can try to pop shove it for an hour and when I feel like I ain't worth shit I move on to a ramp and practice pump instead. It's not as frustrating as just focusing on the same damn thing all day long and failing all day long.
I'm 100% addicted again.

Awesome! I cycled past my local park the other day and was like, damn maybe I should just go and embarrass myself in front of all the kids. It's so fun!
Unfortunately I live in a fairly busy area and I don't know any spots where I could reliably practice without being watched for at least a few hours before skating near other people again

Lol yeah. It took me a while of looking like a newb in front of my neighbors before I did anything potent.
And every time I show up at the skatepark I look like I've never skated before and 30 minutes later I'm popping on boxes after a few tries. Warming up is so brutal.

Anyone got any experience with those weird rotating front truck things that allow you to properly carve fast turns ala surfing or snowboarding (I mean not really the same because you use literally the opposite feet for doing the same motion but y'know)? I am blessed with a plethora of pavement at the new spot and want to get back into being a goober ripping turns.

If you mean the Waterborne surf adapters, I had no idea they even existed until you made me google it.
They look super fun and pretty well made

Right? Apparently this is a thing I had no idea about until yesterday afternoon either

There's a bunch of companies that offer variations on this theme. Seems interesting/a prime candidate for wheelbite, depending on how optimistic I'm feeling.

I watched a few videos and it seems to me at least that the turns are sharp enough to not have to take it to that place where wheelbite lives. They come with riser pads too for your back truck so if you get wheelbite you either have huge wheels or you're REALLY going for it.
I would love to try those on a 9 inch slab

Skateboarding is something I really wish I could get into but I don't like falling and sometimes throw out my back just by sleeping

Destroyed my back truck at a really nice skatepark south of Montreal today. The part sandwiched between the bushings snapped. Pretty much all I do is ollies on and off boxes and other things. I'll climb on top of a box I can't ollie on just to pop one off of it. I'm 140 pounds but apparently the tensors couldn't take 4 months of my shit. Probably means I also need to smooth out my landing game.
But anyway, time for a new setup. Probably 8.5 inch this time. Some indies, something beefier. I'll keep the Big Balls bearings and 53mm wheels. Building this thing will be fun as heeeeyll.

Surprising! I remember I had a set of tensors I used for years back in the day and they seemed pretty solid.
Building a new board is always fun

Got a birdhouse Shawn Hale encounters 2 with the graphic of the kid in the doorway it looks super awesome lol.
They didn't have independent trucks of the right size so I'll have to find some on my own for an 8.5 but I really wanted to support a local shop in this town before going home so I got the deck.
I'll try to post a pic of the tensors when I start swapping parts.
