It seems it would be pretty easy to just do it as a three way toggle on-off-on where you could have mid scoop, tone bypass or a mid bump (or other eq setting)

So the tone bypass and mid scoop could be on a toggle, but then you couldn't adjust the mid scoop level via a pot. The idea is you can scoop your mids as much as you want or not. Totally up to you.
When I get a proto video up it will all makes sense and sound good. I'll keep you guys updated.

Re: Acid Splash Designs Fuzz Optimized for Bass
Ok guys. Sorry to bump this again. I'm just excited and wanted to share.
So I'm looking at a January release (fingers crossed). We have made a few changes here and there, which I think everyone that buys one will love.
First off this is going to be a three part circuit. Fuzz, preamp, boost (actually the Bee Baa has two boosters in it's circuit so three boosters). The most exciting feature to me is the preamp section, which you will be able to use without the fuzz if you so choose. You can simply dial back the fuzz signal, and use it as a clean pre or an overdriven pre with the added gain structure being put into the pre. Also the extra gain adds an enormous amount of head room. So that will never be an issue.
So still working with two stomp switches here. One stomp switch will be a dedicated mids scoop with an adjustable pot. There will however be another mids scoop knob that will not be affected by the stomp. That way you'll never have trouble cutting through any mix. It's going to cut through like a fucking ninja sword. Or if you hate mid scoops, just don't scoop them.
We are going with true bypass, but the pedal will still be buffered at the input and output so it will sit well anywhere in your signal chain. There should be NO issues with this playing nice with any other pedals out there.
The pedal will be large. Yes. I know. I know people are weird about bigger pedals. Trust me when I say, it will be out of necessity and not because I want to use a large enclosure. We're looking at (most likely) 10 knobs, two stomps, and a toggle. So that takes a lot of room. Plus potentially over a 150 components, even with it being all SMD, it's going to be a huge board.
I am very excited and hoping to have a demo in about two months.
I would also note that I've update the thread title. As much tweaking as Roy and I have done to the design and idea of the design, this was not originally intended as a bass pedal, but has turned into one. So it has been quite literally structured in a way that it will play well with active instruments. SO I love you guys! Love your support and ideas and cannot wait to show you what is coming!!
Schematic is done, looks great, pcb fab is happening as soon as I know it fits our enclosure.
Then onto the fun stuff.

Re: Acid Splash Designs Fuzz Optimized for Bass
It seems to me that the most utility would come from one switch for on/off and one for Fuzz on/off. I mean, bass players that are using a pedal for "their tone" tend to want the pedal on the whole time and would want an on/off for the fuzz. Bass players that are using the pedal for additional tones/textures would like the pedal on/off switch because a certain song needs different EQ and then Fuzzins.
Maybe I am just totally biased because i HATE scooped Mids. They sound good when playing by yourself but immediately gets lost in a band context 95% of the time. IMO, if this is a pedal for bass playing, in a band situation, the MiD footswitch should be toggled so that it can be a mid boost or mid scooped. I hate scooped miss so much that making this a core feature totally turns me off to buying the pedal.

Re: Acid Splash Designs Fuzz Optimized for Bass
I too would prefer a flat-boost-scooped flipswitch option... personally, I'm more or a set-it-and-forget-it guy with most pedals. I tend to avoid dual footswitch setups unless I absolutely know I'm going to use both modes, or unless the second footswitch really opens up something crazy-go-nuts that's just too awesome to keep on a flipswitch.
This is just intended as feedback, though, not as a demand. This pedal is probably going to rule HARD no matter what.

Yup, toggle between boost and cut would make the pedal a lot more versatile.

Guys, I ain't saying your wrong but your turning a bee-baa into a bee-BEE. That is literally TWICE the bees! Jwar and Excane are getting important funding from Nicholas Cage and you're all jeopardizing that with your fancy notions!
