Great track through. At last years drone day, one of the acts was a guy who had modified two short range radios so that the output of the one would modulate the station of the other and vice versa. It was pretty cool, but he didn't have it mic'd up so it was really quiet and adding some delay would have been amazing

I recently expanded my desktop setup to use two Patchulators, which is almost making a rackmount patchbay viable again, but patching on the desktop is way more convenient. Yeah I just needed a few 1 foot and 3 foot cables for the things that are farther away like my modular, mixer, and the RM-1N. Most of the other stuff that's directly adjacent to it didn't need anything too long. Patching on the tabletop is incredibly convenient though. The Patchulator is really changing my workflow drastically. I had basically stopped trying to integrate pedals into my setup because I really didn't enjoy unplugging and rewiring things all the time. Now I don't have to and it's phenomenal

Here's a shot of how it's configured in the center of the desktop, although I do plan to add a smaller patchbay (I think) just for the synths and instruments, leaving the Patchulators for effects audio and CV. They are interconnected in the middle so at least one signal can jump between them without having to use a longer patch cable.

I wanted to have more audio routing options so not running CV through the Patchulators right now. Will jamming a lot more in the coming weeks so I'll put some new music up too!

Having fun with the novation circuit, mobius and mooger lpf linked as the non-floor part of the pedal setup.

it is, and the vibe, phaser, flanger and trem, still got to check out the others in detail. Working on the Env patches these days.

I built a tabletop suitcase drone thing today!



An old box thing that I found in the basement, and built a removable layer in it and added velcro and stickers. Really easy but also really fun. Here it is in action:

The red semicircle is a v-drum cymbal pad. The round thing is a practice pad with a trigger/contact mic attached. The cymbal goes to the hi-hat input of the v-drum module. The drum pad goes to both an acoustic output that goes through a bunch of effects, and a second line that feeds the 4-way splitter (headphone amp), which feeds multiple trigger inputs on the v-drum brain. The acoustic and electronic signals go through their own sides of the stereo looper on the floor, and then through the Lexicon. I get a loop of v-drums synched with a loop of contact mic.

I'll post a demo this weekend

This is the sort of stuff that really gets me excited. i mean REALLY excited. You go to a gig and see someone rockin this set up it creates intrigue and wonder, and even looking at the setup the configuration isn't immediately obvious, such a breath of fresh air vs a musician with a plain old roland drum sampler pad thing, or a nord drum. I bet it sounds fantastic.
