Yeah that's a good idea. if some people don't want to ship int'l it would be unfair to have them do so but personally I'd be most excited to be sending/receiving internationally, getting stuff from other countries that you've never had before is awesome.
There are cheap postage options a majority of the time. I've had good luck with First class mail from the US and with sending stuff internationally using standard services here, and it generally costs me around $25 to $50. So if people leave enough time for shipping it shouldn't be a problem. Obviously you would want to at least keep the receipt or something as proof in the off-chance that something gets lost.

It's also worth considering the fact that we have a lot of internationals here, and a lot of North Americans, but we don't necessarily have that many internationals from each country, or even each continent (even the EU is a pretty small thrashy little community). And seriously, how much fun is it sending salt licorice to Bassus Sanguinus (where is that dude??) - he's already loaded with the stuff already, and the Finnish gear is probably superior to ours anyway. But sending it to mr Voyager along with an Ikea catalog is like crazy cool and he will be the envy of Sydney.

This raptor knows his shit. I mean, kinder surprise eggs aren't even illegal anywhere but in the states... Think about it. Also I was hoping for someone to put in some opium laced cough juice and that will only happen if I get a person from Malaysia or something.
Edit: since I brought it up: when I said traceable shipping it was more of an idea to make it easier for people to know if anything was sent at all. First class intl is enough for that. I don't need to know if the parcel is watching the latest season of how I met your mother while on the plane over the Atlantic.
But I am against forcing people that don't want to ship internationally to do so.

Both years I did Secret Santa I had to ship out of the US
Think Haki's was kind of expensive, but that was cause they had terrible box options and I had some weird shaped/sized goodies.

Think it was about 50 bucks, but part of that was you not being an early bird with shipping so you had to use express for it to reach me in time (which it did).

I don't mind shipping intl. Because austrian post is super cool... Pretty much everywhere in the world for 18-20€ priority with tracking & insurance.
I got US guys on both secret santas, and bever had any problems.
But it's cool if you US guys want to keep it continental if your postal service is screwing you that hard. But I don't mind sipping all over the world..
Fuzz power world wide!
