I still have the original strings bagged up. I may swap them out, but that low E was the best. The low E is sort of odd.

What was the bridge upgrade and which model is this?

You liked the stock low e? I hated it. :idk: The low e on the bass vi is a bit weird though, every other string sound great but even with a much thicker string on the low e is a bit floppy for my tastes.

Looks like the Staytrem wide bridge for Bass VI. Have one too, great suff and not Mastery expensive.

Definitely looks like the Staytrem bridge. I have one too and definitely recommend it. I think I'll pick one up for my Jazzmaster too

Squier with staytrem and I got the special order thimble drop ins that keep the bridge from rocking, as I don't use the trem on this guitar

Pardon the terrible IG pic...

I turned my baritone Telemaster into a Bass VI (kinda...scale is 29" so E-e wasn't quite working out, thus it's a half step up/F Standard),

Hmmmm I could have swore I typed "but that low E was the WORST" haha. We both share the same sentiment.

What companies are currently making "VI" type models besides Fender? I know Lakland makes a really ugly one. EGC will build you one, I think Danelectro and Gretsch have 6-string bass models with a 30" scale or near that. You can build your own through Warmoth....anybody else?

Schecter has the Hellcat and Ultra vi. Besides that i don't know. The ultra vi is more appealing to me than the Fender. I don't know how much use I'd get out of the vibrato.

I'll probably get the Squier first since its half the price.
