As a cheap but rad noise maker, the Digitech SynthWah makes some awesome noise fx when placed before dirt pedals.
With a Wah after it you get some weird spacey didgeridoo sounds.
You can also get some cool chaotic noises from it by using SynthWah>Wah>Dirt and using pick scratches or harmonics.

So I've already been gassing for a feedback looper for awhile and I think this thread is going to make me pull the trigger.
Should I go cheap and get the Chk Chk Boom, or the Operator, or should I just splurge and get an Utter Stutter?

Also in boring classes I doodle pedalboard ideas because I'm cool like that. I came up with this today and plan on working towards obtaining it (just need a Superego and feedback looper):
  • Superego > Hoof > Operator > Ditto > MXR EQ
    Superego loop: OC-3 > Ghost Echo > Algal > Lofi 616
    Operator loop: F*ck > Randy's Revenge > Dispatch Master

This thread is already giving me more ideas though. Maybe putting the Superego and the feedback loop in separate channels, EQ in feedback loops, more feedback loops...
Also think I might buy Bitwiz for my phone; that looked so fun!

...I need more moneys. University student budgets don't fit pedal and noise obsessions  :(

You could go super cheap and just build your own, they're extremely simple. No board or anything.
Out of the two though I'd go with Ohnoho 'cause Lawrence is the man and his pedal is very reasonably priced. You don't need a normal feedback looper to be powered.
Utter Stutter's a slightly different story, but for now I'd start with the basic of basics.

the recipe for a noise board is simple gents

feedback loop/oscillator, use your existing guitar pedalboard but run the effects in reverse. delays/reverbs first, dirts last.

if you want to go full wolf eyes, your instrument will be some old mixer and a couple of tape decks.

I dig it. I see some kind of chaotic beauty in it all.
The $1,000,000 price tag turns me off a bit though

Yeah you really don't want to get into modular unless you set some serious limits for yourself like I did with a tiny half rack. Dreading wanting to sell my sequencer because I know I will want to fill it with something super expensive
