Is there some flanger/ninja connection I don't know about? flinja?
Ninjer is what hicks call them. A northerner or someone who speaks more clear english probably thought of a ninja flanger
or it could be due to the funky flange toanz hear in "Kung Fu Fighting"

You've heard of "jazz chorus" ...
now try "jazz flange"

What about "jazz bit crusher"?
Yeah, I've never played nor even (to my knowledge) heard a Big Jam flanger.

^ Jerms has (or had?) a few Big Jam pedals. Delay, Flanjam and Spit Wah (envelope filter) in this vid:

I have listened to that video before. Totally forgot.
Why isn't the flanger purple?

^ Wait - what? I thought Infanem was winding up, now there's a flanger in the works? That's awesome.
As for the tap tempo question, it does nothing for me. Expression pedal control for manual flanging is a way better idea. It works great on the A/DA Flanger

Yeah I've never found myself wanting tap tempo on a flanger...
I have an A/DA clone with a range toggle for the speed knob that i really like so i think a slow/fast footswitch like on a rotary emulator would be more fun. Easy way to switch between a chorusy sound and a slow sweep. Its like having 2 pedals in one.

If it's got step flanging then tap is a must. Otherwise nope.

Tap tempo is the biggest scam perpetuated on the American people since Obamacare.
