Something I saw on that Amazon page that I'd recommend is Joe Haldeman's The Forever War.

Doooo iiiiiiit. Easily one of the most memorable/original science fiction books I've ever read.

gravity's rainbow - (sex+rockets) + (tennis+drugs) = infinite jest

Not that you're wrong, but I disagree.

For one thing, I think Infinite Jest has much more to do with the "choice"/randomness of falling into a predestined or predetermined future (in the most literal sense: you don't have to watch the videotape, though your curiosity might say otherwise...). Gravity's Rainbow isn't having any of that--the rockets fall where they may.

Also, for my money, I'd reread G.R. before Infinite Jest, and not just because Jest is a slightly larger undertaking.

^Fun read. Some of the formatting is real fucked up, though.

Eugene's book tours are the best shit ever. I've seen him on both so far, and hopefully he does more of them.

Nope, but on his Fight Tour stop I got to see him perform "Crown Fire" with Conifer. One of the highlights of my life.

Ugh,almost none of my reading as of late is for fun/leisure. However,my inner bookworm has been quite prolific.
A Writer's Reference
The Little Brown Reader
Mosaicos
Can't remember/don't give a shit who the authors are. But in all cases,I'm ahead of everyone else in my classes,as far as required reading goes :)

So I got $150 in B&N gift cards for my bday last weekend. Recommendations?

Thinking about getting a few business/finance books, a few fiction, a few manga, some other non fiction.

For any manga recommendations please nothing childish (things like Naruto, Bleach, etc.), perverted, or messed up. Think visual literature or cinematic. Things like Monster are good.
