Black Lightning's on Netflix and it's pretty decent.
The only thing is that it suffers from bullshit-uptight-good-guy-superhero-that's-too-much-of-a-bitch-to-blast-a-hole-in-the-bad-guy syndrome.
What made Punisher perfect was that, rather than screw around with the bad guys, he'd just kill them and move on.

I think the only other killers in any line up were swamp thing and man thing. I could be wrong though.
If you want some wholesale Supe killing, read "The Boys". It got picked up as a TV show, but I don't know how good it's going to be.

The Punisher is excellent, but I think it can't possibly run too many seasons without becoming cartoonish or giving Frank Castle a heel turn and having some other vigilante try to stop him. Although they pretty much already did that with Daredevil. The problem is continually scaling up the evilness (and viscerally unlikable qualities) of his adversaries, so the audience will cheer for their horrific deaths without making Frank seem like a serial killer. That's why they had the whole plot line in the beginning of the series with the only guy who was nice to Frank becoming a reluctant criminal, who robs worse criminals and then is psychotically and irrationally turned on by the guy who picked on Frank and called him names at work. Otherwise it would have just been a story about Frank going back to being The Punisher in order to murder some guys who were shitty to him at work. It also gave him a reason to kill mobsters, even though he originally only cared about the ones involved in killing his family as payback.

Also, the bad guy in Black Lightning totally looks like the alien in Battleship.

Great points there. That all being said, Dexter kind of did the same thing .. but with the punisher I personally wouldn't mind it being a bloodbath. Castle is clearly not sane.

Such an on point and extremely loaded observation lol.

I finished it last night. I'm still not sure how I feel about how it was presented/edited... I feel like a lot was left out. But overall I'm glad I watched it. I had no idea that whole fiasco ever even happened.

Just watched the third episode. So far I've felt that it's remained fairly balanced and both sides are being fairly well represented, which is actually kind of surprising. That may be because I can't seem to relate to either side. I was kind of expecting to either be fully on the local's side, but they're pretty bigoted and hateful. But I also can't really relate to the Rajneeshees. I mean I'm all for free love, community, respect and defending yourself, but:
the whole taking over a small town, borderline harassing people, manipulating local politics, and overall becoming a militant group that's blindly following a religious leader and his power hungry assistant is pretty fucked up
That being said, I'm sure a ton is being left out.

Yeah I think it stays very balanced between the two sides all the way through. I don't think it's a spoiler to say ....
...that I wish it depicted more of the everyday life of the Rajneeshees living in the commune, and not solely on the elite circle... but I see why it did.

Yeah that's a fair point and I don't think it's really a spoiler. I get why they did it the way they did, but it would be an interesting perspective to include for sure.

Netflix highlighted a show called "Happy" for me and when I looked at the details it said written by Grant Morrison. I quickly checked that it's indeed THE Grant Morrison and started watching it. 3 or 4 episodes in so far and it's great, in a Grant Morrison way. Apparently adapted from one of his comics I didn't know.
It'a about an alcoholic ex-cop turned hitman who seems to somehow not be able to die despite an apparent death-wish and who ends up seeing and interacting with a blue flying cartoon unicorn who is a kid's imaginary friend. Can't say more without spoilers. It's very violent and over the top in an almost silly way, weird as fuck and so far I love it.

I'll have to look for that on the US Netflix. They aired it on SyFy and I only half paid attention. Would love to watch again. They did an awesome job with it!
