I've been wearing nothing but wool socks for 10+ years and I could never fathom going back to regular stinky cotton! Cool in the summer, warm in the winter, you can wear them several times before the funk rises necessitating cleansing, and they last for years and years!
The only thing better might be might be alpaca socks. Holy living fuck what a pleasure to them feets! But I usually only wear those at home. They are almost too comfortable for daily wearing. I don't want to spoil myself too much, sometimes I think my life's minor first world struggle is what makes me creative...
I got a pair of wool socks at an army surplus store last week. They're incredible. I intend to replace all of my socks with wool.
Need to get in on this thread more as I like to dress for success.
Hanging around at my local skate shop this morning and picked up some Nike SB Janoski max's in the Marty McFly colorway. Still bummed I missed out on the McFly dunks.
My hawks are also in the finals, and the colors fit so had to pick up the fitted too. Hope my 4 ohm ampeg face melter tee will show in the morning.
Boarded them home also, liking them alot actually, may have to check out some other janoski's. I usually hit the streets in lakai's as I don't like fucking up my dunks.
Most recent pair of dunks I've picked up are the premier skate northern light low dunks, love that colorway. Have a few other non limited releases I've picked up here and there. My favorite and most valuable dunks are my deftones dunks I bought when sb's were just hitting the market, sometimes I feel a little froggy and wear them around the house.
Mainly just like supporting my local skate spot, they get alot of the limited releases and some J's from time to time, which is nice considering people tear places apart to get retro j's. Not really a collecter or anything as I like to wear my stuff out.
Some skateshop in Manchester (UK)! Last 2 pairs and they had 1 size 8 which is quite rare. I'm usually really unlucky with sales and good deals, they never seem to have my size ever; it is as if an army of dudes with size 8 feet preceeds me everywhere I go or if they do have my size, it is in the worst possible color scheme...
As for the Brooks, the change from my Nimbus is quite radical, I'm trying to get used to them for now - very different cushioning and philosophy. I like them so far but I have not really used them on long distances. I'll report back in a little while.
