jiaaaaa. havna watched Pieta yet (will though. thanks for the recommendation!), but oh man. Vengeance Trilogy so GOOD. the middle is actually my favorite, even though it's the slowest and least overtly violent mental angry face.

Sometimes, just to preserve my sanity, I'll put something on like Regular Show or The Amazing World of Gumball or Adventure Time and make my kid watch that.

I've actively tried to steer my 3 year old towards cartoons that are at least tolerable. The only one that's stuck recently is Adventure Time and Steven Universe. I don't mind a lot of what he watches, but I have to keep him off Youtube. If he starts watching those weird toy egg or slime videos and all that stuff (which always seems like some kind of weird coded porn to me, it's creepy), he turns into a maniac. It's like brainwashing, he just gets really cranky and aggressive when I let him watch mindless stuff like that.

My kid will watch anything with music. He even yells at the echos and dots we have (echo at my place, dot at the grandparents) to get her to sing. He can't really talk yet but he tries. Hoping this means he turns into a musician at some point.

Watched Altered Carbon. I really enjoyed it. It was futuristic with some pretty cool ideas, yet had a detective/action vibe to it as well. The dude who was in The Killing (one of my favorites shows), was the main character. Took me a minute to realize it was him and he came off a bit strong in the beginning but it worked for the show. Really dug it and had a good ending as well.

That shit is pretty sad Pope!
There is so much shit for kids on YouTube and so much of it is detrimental to kids I think. Basically those 3 things are the only ones I let my kids watch...netflix I’m more relaxed with, but YouTube can get out of control.

Youtube is banned for the kids in our house, unless under close supervision. They can start off watching Peppa Pig and autoplay off into the great unknown to some weird shit. I have to keep reminding my wife of that, even though she's also brought it up independently as well. I have walked in the living room to find my oldest son watching some kind of Mortal Combat-esque video game playthrough or creepy ASMR nail clicking on Mickey Mouse toys. Also, sometimes you look up legit shows and it's just straight up a trick and has those automatically generated weird Flash made cartoons of characters getting pregnant and all that weird kind of stuff, referenced in that video.

Yea, Youtube is ridiculous like that. We also have to be careful as I've found the EXACT same things with our kids.

Black Lightning's on Netflix and it's pretty decent.
The only thing is that it suffers from bullshit-uptight-good-guy-superhero-that's-too-much-of-a-bitch-to-blast-a-hole-in-the-bad-guy syndrome.
What made Punisher perfect was that, rather than screw around with the bad guys, he'd just kill them and move on.

I think the only other killers in any line up were swamp thing and man thing. I could be wrong though.
If you want some wholesale Supe killing, read "The Boys". It got picked up as a TV show, but I don't know how good it's going to be.

The Punisher is excellent, but I think it can't possibly run too many seasons without becoming cartoonish or giving Frank Castle a heel turn and having some other vigilante try to stop him. Although they pretty much already did that with Daredevil. The problem is continually scaling up the evilness (and viscerally unlikable qualities) of his adversaries, so the audience will cheer for their horrific deaths without making Frank seem like a serial killer. That's why they had the whole plot line in the beginning of the series with the only guy who was nice to Frank becoming a reluctant criminal, who robs worse criminals and then is psychotically and irrationally turned on by the guy who picked on Frank and called him names at work. Otherwise it would have just been a story about Frank going back to being The Punisher in order to murder some guys who were shitty to him at work. It also gave him a reason to kill mobsters, even though he originally only cared about the ones involved in killing his family as payback.

Also, the bad guy in Black Lightning totally looks like the alien in Battleship.

Great points there. That all being said, Dexter kind of did the same thing .. but with the punisher I personally wouldn't mind it being a bloodbath. Castle is clearly not sane.
