is it just me, or is KD looking more and more like he's a time-traveling member of a 6Ts free jazz ensemble?

In lieu of an album release show, the Lina Allemano Four are celebrating their new album by sharing some live in studio videos:

Not jazz (more like off-kilter pop-funk lounge music?) but an interesting byway mentioned in the Ornette book:

Ornette produced this (and mentored the musician), and plays synth (!) on one of the tracks.

One last one inspired by the Ornette book (kinda fabulous, though this rip isn't all that good):

James Blood, guitar
Ornette Coleman, alto
Jaamaladeen Tacuma, bass
Denardo Coleman, drums
Artists House, 1978
(on the whole, by the way, the book was... okay, not great. It took a "harmelodic" approach, I guess, centering sections on themes/scenes and then digressing back and forth to shoehorn the biographical details in. The author was super into the Eno-esque idea of "scenius" so some of the discussions of the milieux were fascinating and others dragged.)

Meanwhile, another one from my local peeps:

Some really good compositions here, and all the players are all both top-notch instrumentalists and folks I miss seeing at shows.

I don't think there was more than a passing mention of Jackie. Damn, gotta revisit this one!
