I start on Wednesday,...and I got a brand new Weller WES51 to start working with. In with the new out with the old TC201.

I'd rather burn myself on a soldering iron then on fry grease,...or cut myself with a cheap dull knife.

So here are the results of my first attempts at soldering. Just did some simple inline splices. Not sure if the results are perfect,...but I'm getting there. Getting comfortable with the Iron,...using Flux,...tinning the tip,...operating temps,..developing a routine. I may go out and get some perfboard and some diodes or trannies just for more practice.







I think I need to switch from a conical tip to a chisel tip.

I <3 soldering.

I love building preamps at work but primarily play passive basses. WHO KNEW.

I really need to start building pedals some day...

Practice makes perfect...

Not bad at all.

Just keep practicing and it will become second nature.
And you will get used to the smell of burning flesh, plastic and other things you set your soldering iron on LOL

i dont like that talkbass requires you to pay $20 to become an active member, you cant post classified unless you are. and that membership only lasts a year. i guess i understand then need/want money to keep up with the site, tho im sure them all them advertisements pay for that.
