At the very least, it will let me get rid of my flanger hoax and my bit crusher. That almost pays for it already. If it will me get rid of my whetstone too, then it is more than paid for. And it's 9v, instead of the funky power for the Hoax.

WOOOOOOOOW. Check out all the used Strymon stuff being dropped. Hahaha.

Yeah, I'm going to see how that Mobius does. It'll battle against my Tremolessence and Faye Sing. That Destroyer is everything I've ever wanted in a pedal and it would be on a board if it were made......and I've been considering another Polytope or ChromaChorus. Not sure if the Chorus on the Mobius does the NONwarbly things those others guys do.....but still.....should be an awesome pedal.

sooooo.... any time i say this in a Mobius Is The TITS thread it gets kinda ignored.... and i am NOT trying to throw chunky hater flavored poo rain on your.... parade? is that how that phrase goes? whatevah.

but doesn't it kinda suck if you end up with a box that replaces 4 other boxes WELL, but can't stack the toanz? if this was setup like an M9 where you had 6 patches easily accessible and could stack 3 at a time, i would be ALL over it. 'cause it IS gonna sound beastly.

but.... i like to combine pedsalz. i like the buildup of one ped then two then three then four.

murrrrrr?

The people ignoring those complaints seem content to just use one effect at the time and don't seem to care about stacking. So it depends if you're a stacking kind of guy or not.

My opinion of Strymon is similar to what you think of EHX. Decent enough ideas on occassion but every pedal that's interesting to me has some fatal flaw which puts me off. Most of that is due to a shitty interface. I also dislike the $69 save spot switch, needing an external $150+ controller to be able to tap into a $450 pedal's potential and now with the Mobius being unable to use at least 2 effects at the same time, worse yet when it's possible to put it at 2 places in your chain.

I always glossed over the question because it's a non factor for me. The two pedals it would replace on my board would be the Tremolessence and Faye Sing. Two things I've never stacked. If I liked a flanger pedal enough to keep it, it wouldn't be stacked with either of those guys, either. The Destroyer setting....maybe....but I've never found a pedal that did all of the stuff Destroyer has so the argument of getting a cheaper pedal to stack is a bit moot on that one. Really, the only effect I would stack and possibly buy a pedal for would be the chorus. But a getting a chorus pedal was always and "eh" decision, anyways, so that's not a deal breaker. And even if I DID find a chorus I loved enough to do that with, the Mobius would still have paid for itself with the other pedals it replaced.

Also important. My pedal income is fixed. I'm allowed to wheel and deal all I want for new shit but I can't spend money on things. I can add money into my board on special occasions like my bday or Christmas. I totally understand this. Makes sense. I won't complain. Paypal Smart Connect allows me to buy something and pay for it in a month. So if I'm smart with my purchases (only getting stuff on the cheaps and selling it for a good price) I'm able to buy something, battle it, and flip it out at no loss. The Mobius is a totally safe purchase for me in that if it DOESN'T replace the Tremo and Faye, I could easily sell it the next week for what I bought it for. No harm no foul PLUS I assuaged my Gemini curiosity.

So. I got my IE Oxide in. Second time around with that. It's replacing the MK Megalith. Best decision I've made in a while. The Megalith is awesome in the home but not so much in a band setting. I sold it and bought an Oxide and TAFM with the money. TAFM is still in bound. Sometimes I get so caught up in what pedals sound amazing on their own I totally forget how they fit into the band structure. I can totally understand a guit or a bass phenom who needs no guits being able to use the 'lith in a band setting, though. And I'm sure some bass players playing with two guits can find a way to use stuff that heavy. Not me, though.

FINE. i'll take first dibs if you flip. i DO think the stuff will sound good.... just... yeah.

okay. Chorus? to me just awesome with dirt or fuzz into it. or bit crusher/sample rate reduction. i dunno. maybe i'm just obsessing on what seems funky design to me, but i think they would have made a WAY more useful pedal if they stole the M9 layout.

HAKI I LOVE SHIT STACKING. SO HAWT. and fuck EHX. even though the Freeze/Egoist are pretty awesome. i still think someone snuck in there and built those while none of the normal feebs that do shits where around.

THAT WAS MOTHERFUCKING POST 13000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  :yay: :snax: :ewok:    :success: :)* :!!!:

But yeah. As much as I love my pedals. I don't really go all out there and shit. I keep it close to sane. I'll have dirt and another effect going but I would RARELY use two mods. I TOTALLY get why someone who would use that many stacked would not dig this design and it does perplex me that Strymon hasn't solved it. Obviously they don't expect you to buy more than one of these and it's not because they're coming out with single effect versions later or they'd have done that with the ICE feature on the Timeline and totally cashed in.

Oh, and I forgot the Expressionator. I was going to have to spring $200 for one of those, but if the Mobius wins out, it ties up my more than two expression pedal problems. So Tremo, Faye, and Expressio are all about $575 used......replaced by this new guy and it saves me $100.

Noice.
