Yeah so my friend invited to me out a couple weeks ago to a very specific spot. This is key to story as the spot was chosen a week in advance. We go out to this place where there is a live band playing. She is facing away from the band and we converse about her boy troubles; among them, a musician. At the end of the set they say 'so and so[name]' on the 'instrument' and she goes into a panic. Apparently, this is one of the boys who 'gas lighted' her (a new term for me, never heard that one). I had arrived a little earlier and was eavesdropping on the band. I mentioned "I don't think that could be him because he is from X place [location]" (it would make no sense for her to date a guy from X when she is from Y). Alas, that is the final detail where now we are in the presence of said Ex-Boyfriend and "need to get out".

Yeah...I didn't buy it for a second. She was stalking him. I have to admit, one of the reasons I still meet up with this friend is because I get stories like these . I just love that she played it off like "Oh I had no idea he would be playing here...in this one specific spot playing specific music with a specific instrument...nope"

Now it would be easy to say "$harky, you soy boy, she was trying to ditch you". In any other case I would say, "Probably" or "You are correct, Sir" but 1. To meet up at this spot requires some travel on both of our ends 2. We hung out after we left the establishment 3. I've made it adamantly clear to my friends I'm not the type of person who gets offended and/or sad if they are unwanted/uninvited.

She could have also made the whole thing up. I've had closer friends lie about stupider things. People seeking validation is odd thing. I try really hard in my 'real life' to be the least judgmental person so I'm always puzzled when and if people feel compelled to lie to me. Especially since I seldom solicit information out of people.

Not my best story. I found it amusing. A case study for the books. Happy to read other's interpretations Maybe someone can post their stalker stories?
