What pot ohm does the CT5 like best?

anything 10k or more should be fine. Most pedals seem to be 10k,25k, 50k or 100k. Any of those should work fine.

But, you can get full range from a 10k?

You should be able to. originally it was not great but i changed the firmware i think since rev 0.931. Since then i have not had any complaints.

What's the most common expression value? These seem super interesting and I'd love to have one that would fit with most of my pedals.

i have no idea what is most common.

if you buy one and want to use it with ct5 make sure you get what they are calling "stereo" with the TRS jack. otherwise no love.

also i am just finishing testing a small firmware update for the rev k's that went out which fixes the mode 2 transcendence issue (shrinking buffer), adds level control to mode 3 (can turn down each DIR independently) and also attempts to resolve something someone i think not from this board was able to demonstrate, which is in mode 3 the write head is not quite perfectly aligned with DIR 1 when at 1:1 forward and recording so if you try to use it as a "normal" looper to layer there is a slight doubling effect. i don't quite have the fingers that guy did but we have tried to theoretically improve this latency, so hopefully it works out.

if these are solid fixes we will release the parallel firmwares for h,i,j. so a bit of a detour on that.

if you have found any other bugs right with the rev k release now would be the best time to let me know. not a wish list, just problems vs what it was advertised to do plz.

When the h/i/j update hits, will there be any significant difference between them and k? Got a j coming from a trade.

functionally j shoudl be the same except you do not have "green" led hardware. h/i you will have to access things a bit differently.

rev k board has better a/d d/a but is otherwise functionally identical to rev j.

this all sounds fantastic!!! thank you! pretty much addresses all of the small issues i've had.

also, i'm expecting a 2nd CT5 in the mail today! can't wait to run two on my board at once. totally the most fun and useful pedal i've ever had.

Fantastic to hear about the new firmware update that will give us volume control in mode 3! Thank you so much!!
Will the set volumes for different DIRs be remembered on mode change or even pedal power off? Both would be useful I think. I could see myself setting one set of volumes to use in 90% of situations and then rest of the time(I would probably tinker with it, but rarely.
Either way, fantastic that you're doing this.

when you flip modes it will keep the volume setting in mode 3 if you leave and come back. for power off/on i will add something so that you can save the power on default. this will save transcendence and q mode as well. so basically you set the pedal the way you want the default to be, store it, then if you change things, when you power cycle it will go back to the state you stored.

this sounds really useful, will it be able to be applied to two switch models for the quantisation saving?

yes but it will probably be a bit of switch gymnastics since they lack the Q switch.
