If we're showing pictures of our little ones, here's my son at this past Halloween. He just turned 2 last week.

Yeah, that's my neighbor Dustin. He and his wife both dressed up as ghostbusters this year. They even had proton packs and PKE meters.

Fix'd
I called around to the local computer builders to see if I could source a fan; from what I could gather most of them only carried DC fans???? Not familiar with compy builds,...but whatevs. One of them said,...just go to radio shack.
This is the Fullcompass product:
http://www.fullcompass.com/product/418453.htmla few months ago it was out 4-6 weeks and now it's "special order",...so I'm wondering if they will gladly take your money only to have to refund it when LOUD won't supply them with the fan (the issue that Fliptops was having).
I think there are a few Digikey fans that would fit the ticket.
Speaking of computer builds. A friend gave me a motherboard. I have no idea if it is any good.

I'd like to build myself a DAW and media computer. Basically something I can get musically creative with and track all the parts myself. I don't really have a budget set out although I do have a rough idea of what other hardware I'm gonna need (RAM,...Drives,...Etc). Do any of you computer savvy folks feel like this is a worthwhile piece of kit? XP or 7 are my preferred OS's. The motherboard says that it is certified for Vista.

it is by no means gonna make you a 1337 gamer box but AFAIK you should be good. Just make sure that the motherboard is not grounded before you spend the time and money setting it up.
Just look up the newegg review of the the mother board using the part number and it should tell you everything you kneed to know.

Yeah,...gaming's not really my thing. I see the appeal,...but I just don't have the competitive spirit. I might have a good time playing Sonic Generations or GT5. In that case,...I'll just go out and buy a used PS3. I don't even have a TV,...want one,...just haven't needed one and music shit is my priority. I'm wanting a small drumset as well (Kick and Snare with a few cymbals and I'm set).

Firsties...apologies for calling you SEQ; the caffeine was still sinking in.
Board - it's a decent board from a good company, about a year or so old, and fits AMD AM2 and AM2+ Phenom processors. Don't worry about the 'Vista' bit...it'll handle either XP or 7 easily. You'll have the option of using its on-board graphics, but I'd suggest getting a mid-to-lower-end (ie; non-gaming) video card instead. Pretty good on-board sound solution as well. With some careful shopping, you could have a system up and running for around $600 or so, using that board.
I'd suggest bypassing XP (unless you already have a legal copy) and going with some version of 64-bit 7...a 32-bit OS can only recognize a max of 3.25 gigs of RAM, whereas a 64-bit OS will recognize upwards of 16 gigs easily. Same w/64-bit Vista, if you're feeling brave, and Vista can be picked up CHEAP these days. It is a bit of a PITA sometimes, but it does work overall a bit better than the horror stories would suggest. In any case, 64-bit is becoming the default these days (and it will run any 32-bit programs as well) and a minimum of 4 gigs RAM is also becoming the norm.
Fan - I don't have a fan that meets your spec, and I swear that the fan in the link is that price 'cause it's for an Ampeg, and so I agree with calling Radio Shack before shelling out for that one. I just found
this one which is still a bit pricy but not as bad as the Ampeg-recommended one. Only spec I can't find for it is how much air it moves (CFM) but maybe the RS geeks can tell you that. Skip the computer outlets...PC gear is all DC voltage, which I hadn't thought of earlier (btw).
