Yep! That's pretty much what separates them from the MIJ.

The Japanese RI models have the 3 knob - volume, volume, tone, output jack configuration.

I have the John East Retro J preamp, hipshot tuners and bridge hopfully arriving this week.
Nothing wrong per say with the current setup, but I love hipshot hardware and I spoiled myself on their bridges years ago.

My buddy just did his with the East preamp and it sounds delicious. I can't wait.

Nice, love it man. :thumb:

fuuuuuuuuuck that's hot. 34" scale?
lately I've been more into the simplicity of one pickup...all you really need in life is a neck pickup.
What's the switch for, coil split mode?

30" it's 60's - 70's japanese... the switch is weird... it.. is a three way that in 1: is off, 2: tone control bypass, 3, tone control bypass but runs you through the same cap as on the tone control so it's like having the tone control on full "tone" I just hooked the pickup up to what was still in the bass

1984 Squire Bullet Bass. Strung with flat-wound 45's, I had to sand down the nut to get the strings to fit.
