I'm pretty sure you were all like "everyone around here is scary."

Politics you say? I couldn't be less surprised. Our first and only show with that promoter was opening for a
famous band. We were the only Seattle band on the bill. Lord Dying was also on the bill and in keeping with their usual Seattle experience got shafted on attendance. So being the only Seattle band we brought the most people. I guess
famous band ain't so fuckin famous up here. We opened and had a crowd of approximately 75-80. The next band was highly touted and supposed to be well on their way to the 'bigtime' (LOL) as well. They sucked hard and cleared the room. So Lord Dying got to play for about 35 people. If that. At least they got their money so that's good. For them. Then
famous band went on and it looked like some of their people showed up. They played to perhaps 75 people who slowly trickled out during their schticky dumb set. We had no guarantee but figured since we do great around here we'd at least get broke off a hundred. Assface's bandmate warned us in advance that we'd get shafted no matter what and that's exactly what happened. Promoter showed up in time to catch
famous band and had no idea how the attendance waxed and waned throughout the evening. She complained that she was short on the door and said we'd get zero. We're in no rush to jump back on board that ship. We got better attendance and pay at every single weekend show we organized ourselves in the past year and sometimes on the rare weeknight too. Fuck, we did better on the road where we were utterly unknown in some places.

Magic was indeed uber cool, a bit jealous they got to hang for a week. I would have loved to do a lot more brain picking than I got to do in the one evening we hung out.
I'm much better today! Not perfect yet but I'll take what I can get. Can I get some of that elixir please?
Magic is way cool. I usually get real tired of house guests real quick but he was easy to get along with the whole time. I kinda miss him actually.

We're pretty like minded there. You already covered it but it's not so much evil as oblivious. The quest to take care of number one pretty much ensures the blinders are on in regards to impact on the rest of humanity.

I would shit my pants to see that on the big screen. It's not the most exciting flick but certainly one of the most visually awesome ever made. I'm going to see the original Halloween at a theater on the 30th. Stoked!

Repress for sure, colored vinyl I don't know. If it was up to us then definitely colored vinyl. The label lady will probably want to do colored again as well because she's really into that kind of thing but I can't really say. I know she has some left for sale but by the time you get it shipped from The Netherlands it'll cost you $50.
And hey congrats on the split!!! Let us know when it's available.

I can tell you some stories about our promoter friend next time I see you Darren- hopefully tomorrow. And you guys have to press more records, due to my being lame and sleeping on the first round- simple!

Darren, if it's any consolation, I think
famous band sucks!

Like, big time...Lord Dying should have headlined that show!

IN,BABY,IN MY FREAKIN HOUSE!!
happy birthday to me
deets as described by tom
Controls!
- Bloom is Bloom...it's fuzz+gain+definition. It increases gain and note separation, which is an interesting thing, so rather than going mushy or washy, it holds together pretty nicely when cranked. I think it holds up with lower tuning because of this.
- Head is headroom. Left is more clipped...as you turn it right, it becomes less clipped, but also louder and more open. (The transistors are still being overdriven, while it relies less on conventional diode clipping.) So while turning right reduces how clipped it is, it also increases mass. So it does some big thunderous chords. It might surprise you how open it gets, but I think this really works with big menacing chords...when, from the lows to the highs, every string is heard, it lets you get this full-spectrum mass attack that's pretty cool.
- Body (Body and High work together). Body shifts a huge amount of bass and mids in/out of your sound...but leaves your highs totally in tact. (Unlike Tone controls that make you choose either [bassy and dark] OR [bright and thin]). Body also adjusts fuzziness.
- High lets you then control your highs, separate from Body. Set your lows and fuzziness where you want it, then adjust your highs.
- Open is a switch, adjusting clipping and transistor biasing in the pedal...what it does is add/remove extra clipping and compression. It controls texture, lets you choose whether you want crunch with just-a-hint of gate, or whether you want things wide-open. Headroom works regardless, but this switch is kind of a pre-shaper control that's pretty effective in getting clipping where you want it.
ALL THIS "but stupid-with-lows and menace."

I'll wait til you guys get some more copies in hand. I sold my Redbear today on ebay so I'll have a little bit of cash to spare. I've been meaning to pick up some of Doom Room band merch for a while. Guess when the guy pays me I'll be hitting some of you all up. I really wanna get an Infinite Flux shirt.

I bought Skullservants Verellen mod JCA20 and it got here yesterday. Sounds killer even through the little 1x10 I've got kicking around. Super excited to hear what its really got but I loaned my 2x12 to a friend when he blew the speakers on his right at the start of their little tour so it'll be a bit longer.
