I've kinda thought that Wishbasses DO look like an EUB, only down-scaled a bit and worn on a strap.

The ultimate instrument contradiction - fanned-fretless Dinger.

- edit - sourcing strings for fan frets; I'd guess that, aside from DIngwall themselves, anyone who sells individual strings could put a set together.

i just buy the Dingwall strings. i like them a looooooooot.

well, i don't like like spending that much money on one piece, but seriously...... Dinger's the best piece of gear i've ever owned. i've not wanted any other bass since buying it. but i'm not a huge bass nerd. i don't really know shit about different basses and never wanted to have a collection of different sounding ones. Dinger sounds like what i want a bass to sound.

Having owned my Wick for over 12 years; I never "needed" another bass. I'm genuinely more stoked on it now then when I first bought it. That said; my desire for downtuning as well as being in standard tuning does make me "want" other basses just for ease of switching between C#/Dropped B (thinking in terms of a 6string guitar as opposed to a 5string bass) and E standard etc etc etc.

Tony Levin is such a weirdo.

My real desire for an EUB (I'd kill for a legit NS EUB) is doing the whole bowed legato thing through my pedal board for the sonic destruction (while attempting to not totally rip off Les Claypool in the process).

It seems like a lot of people are hoping on the Aluminum guitar/bass/EGC bandwagon. I think it would be cool to have an all aluminum EUB.
