Often PA speakers will sound a bit sterile with guitar but really shine with the bass. The speaker I just mentioned shines with guitar and bass imo. Of course that depends on the cab too.

Yeah, those PA speakers sound pretty good in a 112 or 212.
The downside to them is that if you are putting them in a 412 their wattage is too high (1600w) to really get them "moving" with most older amps.
My 60w Sunn Sorado and 55w Ampeg b25b both sound pretty good using guitar or bass with cabs up to 800w, much more than that and they just sound strained.

Good point. I did notice that with guitar my 2x12 sounded pretty thin/trebly even with my 120 watter with that model but once I loaded my 1x12 with it, pow! That combination just came alive.

I always contributed it to the smaller dimensions though. Now I wonder if it's a combination of both push and dimension.

I saw this picture of Hendrix, all he used was a wah.... And not even the Jim Dunlop Jimi Hedrix wah, just some old thing.....
Jimi didn't realise the horrible tone suck we had to listen to every time he used that wah.

How does that work as i thought you would blow a guitar cab by playing a bass through it but i've heard of tons of people doing it / something about people playing bass through marshall stacks in the 60s.[/quote]

I was a little worried especially since 3/4th's of the time I have a fuzz box on, but it's been fine for 2 years now with no problems at all. I did take the 60's into account as most players used guitar cabs until the 8x10 was invented so I figured it would be fine but was a little weary. It's especially fun seeing not so great sound guys ask where the bass stuff is. The low end is still massive with this setup (somehow), and I just got a 3rd cab (piece of shit B-52 4x12). It's really strange how much better it cuts through with the 4x12's. An Ampeg 8x10 does have a better bass response, but with this I can actually hear myself on stage and everyone else in my band will say how much better the 4x12's sound over an 8x10.
My dream is to have Emporer build me 2 8x12's with Celestion bass speakers in them so it'll be low and loud. We'll see though, I have no money right now as I've been out of work since last november.

Yeah, in fact I start to notice a difference at above 400w and by the time I get to 600w it's pretty thin.
My friend has a Ampeg cab with a 115 on bottom and a 410 on top. Individually both sound nice but together it's just to much.

I'm not sure i could pull it off with my orange ad30 but idk perhaps isn't it suppose to be like 60w at full power because of how orange rates amps.

In a 212 I'd try one of these:
http://www.eminence.com/speakers/speaker-detail/?model=Commonwealth_12#

225w 50hz-4khz
It should work fine with the AD30 just make sure to match the Ohms with your other speaker and wire it right for the amp.
Two 8ohm speakers wired in series = 16ohm load which is probably how the AD30 is already set up.
I believe the AD30 has 60w Celestion Vintage 30's in it.
If you add a higher wattage speaker your max wattage will still be 120w (double the lowest rated speaker).

You want to make sure both of the speakers are high enough wattage handling for both rigs. If you put a 100 speaker with a 50 watt speaker the net result is a 100 watt cab. If you put a 300 watt speaker with a 50 watt speaker the net result is a 100 watt cab...

You always go with the lowest watt speaker in a cab and use that times the total amount of speakers to determine total cab wattage handling. This will ultimately effect tone of the speakers too.

It would also force me to get good at guitar.
