I liked that Blue Ant trilogy a lot actually.
But I thought The Peripheral was awkward with its scale
a bunch of rednecks save the world in some little podunk town.

I've never played Dungeons & Dragons but always been interested in what it's all about. Picked this up for my flight back from Utah last week (ended up getting drunk and watching a super depressing movie on the plane instead... the woman next to me watched the same movie and was sobbing for half the flight). About halfway through so far.

I've been reading "The Little Bookroom" to my seven-year-old. He reads everything but we've been sharing this. I'm gonna warn you. Some of the stories, like "The Connemara Donkey" are like guided missiles aimed straight at your feels.

Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere, been riding public transit reading it, makes it just a bit more interesting.

After many years of hardly reading anything, I'm on a roll and have just finished my third book in one week.
Kurt Vonnegut - God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater
Philip K. Dick - Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
Russell Hoban - Riddley Walker
All ace. Riddley Walker especially.
Next up is Slaughterhouse 5

Hey if you like Dick (heh), read Ubik. My favorite of his. I find myself thinking about it, just, around, doing stuff. I love the stuff he writes about shared dream-states. The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, too.
You can't go wrong with Vonnegut.
I haven't read Riddley Walker. Good, you say?

I'm almost finished the first story, one chapter left. This thing is super difficult.
