You could probably make the argument that the Wankel (hehe) Rotary engine (found in RX-7s and The RX-8 among others on the JDM) is a 3 cylinder.

I see upon further inspection that that car is indeed a Taurus (The Wha?). Mums drives a 10 year old Sable and I recognize the similarities now. That car is so heavy and gutless and it has a 6 cylinder.

You should have bought a Subaru.

lol. Sube's are nice, and i dunno about the Sable but this thing MOVES. it's as fast or a bit faster than my Accura v6 was, but it's so damn smooth about it that i don't even notice and i'm up to 75 or 80 on the freeway.

like i said tho, i'm not a huge car guy. i just want something that looks nice, is roomy (i'm about 6' 4" so legroom = WIN), has a nice stereo and is fast enough to br fun and not dangerous.

annnnnd.... headed out to get a new deck and a pair of 10's in the trunk to fiz the "good stereo" part of the equation.

weird to see a 500 watt amp and a pair of 10's in a box and think, "DAMN that'll be loud."

Granted a 10 year old sable that could like use a tune up and some upgrades. It's probably one of the lower end models as well. I don't know much about Taurus/Sables but I imagine there is a lower displacement model on the cheaper end of the spectrum. That car also came from North Carolina all the way to Spokane soooooo,.....

I drive a 16 year old Accord Wagon with a 4cyl and Manual and it has more get up and go then that Sable. As a guy that has to haul gear I love my Accord and while it has it's issues (as any 16 year old car approaching 200k miles would),...it's still holding up quite well.

EDIT: I'd be equally happy with a mid to late 90's Legacy/Outback Wagon.

I'd rock a Leone too,...they are a bit small (the Imprezas ultimately replaced the line).

This is my buddies' GL (Leones are what they are referred to on the JDM,...DL/GL are actually the trim levels and you can completely nerd out by referring to them by the engines they came with EA71/EA81/EA82)



TBFX is a friggin ghost town. I've been checking it the past couple of days and there is nothing really worth posting about or replying to. I replied to a newb from Spokane (I've actually seen some of his CL posting in the Musician section,...he's a Xtian-ish wierdo). I posted what I thought was a helpful reply about how effects are going to soundlikeshit through a GC Acoustic Bass amp package (100watt head at 8ohms paired with a 8ohm 1x15) and he should concentrate on upgrading his rig with a 2nd cab if he hoped to gig in this town, then worry about effects...he hasn't checked back in on his thread. Yeah,..me too,..although replace "quick" with "book" (I'm assuming that's Linux lingo).

The old school cats that sometimes come into TBFX I don't mind lending advice to. They've paid their dues,...and I've enjoyed their posting in TBOT, but there has been a flurry of noobs looking for "pedal advice".
