Fuck.

On the one hand, that's awesome.

On the other hand, it's not Gold, I don't think?

Good on you D.O.S. My nostalgia beer would be Bershire Brewery's Draymans Porter. I loved that stuff. I don't know if it gets up to you but if it does have a bottle or two for me. last time I had it was at a pats game I brought my dad to. Blew my mind that they had it in the stadium. God the food there was excellent too.

The wall of sound. I think if the DR meetup ever happened and we all brought the rigs we could rival it. maybe surpass it. Challenge accepted?

I'm still hurting from the show on friday. I can't wait for the next one.

Off to sauce the Whores album.

Ooooh. I'm gonna try and hunt that down. Porters are delicious.

Heady Topper, for those that don't know, is a VT beer that is THE BEST BEER ON THE INTERNET, according to places like beer advocate. It was out of the Alchemist brewpub, but they got completely boned by hurricane Sandy, so now they just make the one beer. It's a double IPA you drink out of the can, and it's like 9 or 10 percent. Gets toasty.

Still haven't listened to Whores yet. At least, not the band. I know its streaming somewhere legit, anyone got a link?

It's hyped to the point of madness (as are many unobtania in the beer world) but is definitely one of the finest I've ever had. I've only had it a couple times since I graduated before they started canning, but tried to have one every time I visited the Burl. Which is surprisingly difficult, since liquor stores sold out almost immediately and restaurants obviously had limited supplies. Definitely going to the brewery itself next time I visit, maybe spring or summer next year. As well as Hill Farmstead.

Got an email saying that the Shroud Eater test presses will be done this week. I'm pumped. Preorders will be up soon as the test presses are approved.

It's a short film. That's it as far as I know. I thought it was excellent as it was. It didn't need to be any longer. I would love to see another full-length The Punisher movie, but they'll probably get it wrong.

Sweet! Will listen now. I already pre-ordered the album so I'm waiting for it to be released.

actually just sent an email to a dude about one of those. . . . :thumb:
There were TWO in Dublin for €600, which is a pretty damn good price for Ireland, one with an FX loop and one without. One has been sold already—at that price I'm not surprised—but the one left is without an FX loop for some reason (it must be an older reissue and not one of the modern ones) and I really only wanted one with an FX loop.

the old ones were also called the 1959SLP. i haven't played the reissues of that, but i have had some experience with a couple of the reissue jcm 800's with the effects loop. a band i worked for rented a couple on a couple of different european tours that we did. i can't speak for the effects loop itself, as they didn't use it, but the amps themselves sounded great. i wouldn't be able to tell a difference probably between them and the originals. i was a little surprised actually. based on that, i would imagine that the super lead reissues are probably pretty good too.
I've heard the Super Lead reissue is even closer to the original than the JCM800 reissue is to its older brother, so that's good. Thanks, Parker.

I'll see if I can find a UK distributor of Heady Trooper.

Whores. are on bandcamp as well. You can listen to their first EP, Ruiner, and download it there.

my uncle's been collecting Esquires forever--he's real down with Rory Gallagher/Early Floyd/Beefheart stuff. They're fucking awesome guitars for that kind of "normal but off " sound.

But saying "tele esquire" is kind of like saying "les paul SG"
:poke:

I'm aware. :excellent: The difference being that an LP and an SG are different body shapes with basically the same electronics. The Telecaster and the Esquire are the same body with different electronics. All be it that fender alltruists call it just an esquire, its like calling a single pickup les paul junior just a gibson junior. This is all just IMO of course and YMMV. :p

I call them Les paul SGs for the years that they were actually called les paul's though.
