I would wanna tear it apart in a week though cause it's too clinical for me...

Whoa - are those tie-down squares velcro'd on the bottom? If so, I SO need those!

They have sticky backs but you can cut a small piece of 'cro and stuck it on... We use 'em all day for Cat 6 shit... Ho Depot has some but if you have a specialty Telecom store in town try there... 3m makes the good ones...

Thanks for the kind words guys. If anyone is interested in a build, let me know. I build the flat boards as well.

Two things: a) Yes, I really gotta get some better patch cables, and b) I KNOW IT'S TECHNICALLY NOT A BOARD BUT HEY

Boss HM-2 (at "low gain") into a Rat clone with clipping diodes disengaged* into PDS-1002 (medium delay) into DFX9 (longer delay).

I haven't tested it with my LP yet (nor have I, admittedly, spent a lot of time with the combo), but the HM-2 -> Rat combo sounds great, even with this crummy out-of-tune-with-rusted-strings-and-weak-pickups Yamaha ERG121. Should totally slay with my LP. Of course the Rat sounds great on its own (LED clipping mode is the dog's bollocks), but man, HM2 into Rat is :omg:

* The Rat clone has the ever-popular three-way toggle switch to choose between LED clipping, Si clipping and no clipping diodes.

I think I've seen another one also with the dist knob broken off. What were these people doing? Haha. Mine has a busted LED, too. A bit of an inconvenience if I'm using it in a noise set, but on guitar there's no mistaking when it's on, that's for sure!

(inb4 someone goes "BECAUSE ALL KNOBS CRANKED IS THE ONLY WAY TO DO IT")

I'd spent so much time looking at YouTube demo of this boutique fuzz and that boutique distortion box, lusting over everything, before I realised that what I really wanted/needed was a Rat (I've had two before this: sold the first one during a bit of a metal craze—fun fact: my first distortion box was actually a Rat clone—and the second one, one of the newer Chinese ones, decided to stop working all of a sudden). And I was right. So good.

Now that I have a Rat, time to go back to looking at boutique distortion/fuzz boxes

Seriously though, thinking of adding a Meathead-type fuzz somewhere. OR a Muff? Rat into Muff is such a nice sound.

I did a quick google search, the description was vague.
