Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
So my cello playing friend picked up a fender delux reverb. Fell in love with it as soon as he plugged his cello in. This shop near our houses had a sunn solaris listed for 500 and we almost got that but they were putting that up as bait to bring people in. He played through an acoustic and a mesa/boogie and didn't like either...plus they were crazy inflated and the shop had no ac and it was 100 degrees...so yea.

So did they not want to sell the Solaris?lordgalvar wrote:So my cello playing friend picked up a fender delux reverb. Fell in love with it as soon as he plugged his cello in. Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Nope...they didn't have one. We had cash and said bring the solarus...they ran around for a while saying they couldn't find it. And then there was this sunn 300 fender thing they tried to sell [for like 1600].
They were just listing things on their website to bring people into the store.
Mesa/boogie .22 for 1k was an example of their prices. Cheap acoustic 1x12 combo for 450...

Might be with the BitQuest? I know using the EHX 8 step program on my BQ would just shut the pedal off no matter what I did.Ryan wrote:I was thinking that would work.. were you using a TRS cable? Ha, I shoulda mentioned that to you! Sorry, resin!

Anybody have any experience with electric violas? My wife plays viola (but always used a restrung, downtuned, viola stringed violin...'cause no one plays viola but her and Jake). She's all back into it because of our cello friend...
Anyway, the yamaha ones are like 1.3k and our frined says nsdesign are the best...but violas start at like 1.6k...they do make a "cheap" violin for 600 that can be restrung...but just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions for electric violas or violins that are a good price for the quality.
Side note: just hesitant because she looses interest in hobbies in like 20 minutes...and she has a cheapy viola she picked up on ebay at some point...maybe just try that with a violin pickup (suggestions for that also)...getting ready for birthday and christmas//she is hard to shop for and makes jokes that the amp I got her was really for me...(just wait until I get her a 1967 GTO for our 10 year wedding!)

'66-'67s are my favorite cars ever. I wish I'd held out and gotten one instead of my '74 Z28.lordgalvar wrote:(just wait until I get her a 1967 GTO for our 10 year wedding!)

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Mine too man. I had a 1967 in really nice condition (except the interior) with brand new paint (turquoise if I remember...or it might have been the darker blue...damn that was 20 years ago) all setup and ready to be bought by me and my dad for 2k from a friend (1997ish) and my dad vetoed it. He likes Chevelles and Novas...so yea haha (I think he just didn't want to see what the insurance bill would be//or be able to afford it). It had the 428...
Still my favorite car...but I'll take a Le Mans or a tempest if I get a deal..
1966-67 are my favorite years of my favorite car!

Anyone tried any of these: http://spi-soulpower.com/wordpress/?page_id=125 ?
Some of the graphics are tacky af, but they seem to make some neat stuff nevertheless.

ummmmm, yea tacky!
Never heard of 'em but they might be interesting. But they look like circuits pulled from the internets more than original circuits. But not sure...just too much variety and I have never seen them for sale in any web shops around Japan.

I saw some of the ones labelled Chou Chou in several of the stores I visited in Japan, but never got around to try any of 'em out. Noticed that they're one of the contributors to that Effector Handbook thing along with MASF.
