I've been contemplating getting a pair of Doc Martens to compare, but I'm curious of the quality difference between the Made in England v Made elsewhere
I have a pair of heritage MIE and a pair of the non MIE ones and it's a massive difference. The leather on the MIE is smooth and slightly pebbled and it patina'd much more nicely than the plasticky leather of the other pair. They also broke in twice as quickly and the welt is stitched much better.

I have been lving with two pairs of kicks for the last 8 days and wanted to offer some thoughts.

Wore the Asics Gel Epirus on my flights and Packed my clarks.

A few thoughts.
1. Even with two choices I still think through shoe decisions every day.
2. The asics are super comfortable, breathe well, are super light and don't look crazy out of place at the office. Laced right they even worked great as my "I'm going to be the quickest and most efficient person in this security line" shoes. I have also worked out in them a few times and they work great for that as well. One of the things I love about the asics retro runners more than say the nike ones is that they still work very well for their orignal pupose. Not sure I would ever try to work out in my air max 90s.
3. The clarks are awesome, I accidently walked 3 miles in em the other day (kept looking for a taxi, never found one, just walked to the factory) they feel great, look very good and are holding up well. also My wife thinks I look good in them, which is good news. When I told her that someone named Muff Diver had recommended them she just shook her head. She doesn't even question weird ILF contacts anymore. Anyway the boots are sick, look good, feel good, other than the fact that they don't breathe at all (which why would they) they are about the perfect pair of shoes for just about anything.

pics on my IG from when I was packing

wanted to post a review, went on sneaker freaker for 10min today and just gave up.

Reebok fury is my favourite shoe for flying.

I concur that retro Nike running shoes aren't appropriate for running. My 180s were a world of hurt after about 2km.

yeah, the funny thing is when I did run track and cross country in JR high and HIghschool I never wore nike running
I would use the spikes and flats but not the trainers
so it makes sense that the retro models would not be suitable

the exception to this was the zoom spiridon, which was a rediculous shoe

you use the fury for planes?
you need two hands to put it on

I use the asics cause I can drop em on the ground and kick my foot in

The biggest shoe problem I experience is a problem with my working shoes. I work at a lot of different places(either bartender or waiter), most demanding I wear all black. The criteria for aight shoes differ though. Some places are one with running shoes, some are only okay with fancy ass shoes. I hate all expenses I have that aren't beer or gear, so I usually use cheapo black running shoes and use a pair of fancy shoes for the fancier servings. My cheapo blackies are so bad, and my back and pinky toes hurt from them. Anyone knows a pair of shoes that are comfy and could go for pseudo-fancy? Preferably as cheap as possible, but if it has to happen is has to happen

I have a pair from Gourmet footwear that I got for 25 on a holiday sale thing
that work pretty well
they aren't the most dressy but they may work

grip is probably good for serving too

I can't seem to pull up their sight now, but they have some all black stuff that may work
can you get away with all black stan smiths?

Thank you, I'll look into those! And stan smiths look like they would work! Lately I'm using brown shoes with like a zipper on the side which I constantly get caught in  Something bad is bound to happen.

Fun trivia about my job: the queen of Sweden accidentally almost elbowed me in the nuts when I was walking past her

Yep, we are a monarchy. Few know of her nut bashing business, but I bet the king does. A few scandals about him going to strip clubs and stuff probably made him feel some queenly rage to the balls. But who knows

 There's a Knut joke in there somewhere.

Get a pair of these and you'll have all your shoe needs covered. I'm assuming they're comfy what with the lunar sole and all.
