Fuck, that setup rules!

First time I've seen fire logs incorporated into a live rig, well done.

They give you a natural, woody tone

Looking to get a bass tube amp. Played my brothers guitar tube amp (Fender amp) and it sounded fucking amazing. So I'd really like to try a bass one. Never played tubes before. Any suggestions fellow bassists? Used is probably the best way to go obviously, but what do good tube amps run price wise? Any help would be appreciated. Not looking for a specific sound really, just something that sounds nice and warm.

I've got an Electric Amp VU180 (KT88 powered) for sale. If you are serious contact me. It sounds really, just something that sounds nice and warm! You can't believe it until you experience it.

Ashdown Little Bastard? I love mine and it puts out a lot of volume for 30W, they're pretty cheap used here in the UK but I have no idea about anywhere else. Those Peavey VB things look pretty nice. A lot of old guitar heads and PA stuff like Hiwatts, Sound City and so many other brands/rebranded stuff, marshall jtm and clones despite being guitar amps sound good for bass. Obviously fender bassman heads, they go pretty dang cheap all the time. Sunns look nice, never seen one to try it though.

I have a Peavey VB-2 and love it...it's very versatile. Maybe it won't sound exactly like an Ampeg but you can approximate it, among other things. The presence and resonance controls are especially helpful -- basically, the amp does everything I wanted it to do, and at 225 watts. Plenty of headroom, probably just enough for anything I'm gonna do. Don't get me wrong, I love the DOOMS too. LOL DOOM2 BEST DOOM GAME

While it covers cleans no problem, it can be set for dirty before you hit Guitar Wolf volume, which I'm assuming is unlike The VB-3 (300 watts and voiced differently, supposedly much louder). I wrote a bit about it before in this thread, but I'm too lazy to do a write-up right now

Anyway, I got mine for $550 and a fuzz pedal to cover shipping, like new. It's uncommon but they sometimes appear in the TB classifieds.

Just do what I do and use a guitar amp and a sans amp. Oh wait it's your brothers amp, I played guitar in my last band and didn't have money to buy a bass amp and cab so I just use a 1973 Musicman HD-130 and an Orange 4x12 and a 1980 JCM800 cab. Sounds so much better than an ampeg and fridge cab.

I've recorded every release with my current band with guitar amps. Sovtek, JCM900, Musicman and a Fender twin and the pressing company actually had to send the master back because the bass was so loud they couldn't cut the wax.

restorations.bandcamp.com to see how a bass can sound through guitar amps and cabs.

It really doesn't matter what instrument you plug in as long as the cab has a higher wattage rating then the amp, you won't blow the speakers.
The only problem you may run into is, most guitar speakers are not capable of producing useable lower end bass frequencies(45-65hz).
Most guitar speakers range from 65hz- 5.5khz and most bass speakers range from 45hz-5hz.

This is why a player often loads a 12" cab with a good PA speaker like an Eminence Delta Pro 12-A. Often PA speakers will sound a bit sterile with guitar but really shine with the bass. The speaker I just mentioned shines with guitar and bass imo. Of course that depends on the cab too.
