I dunno...I think it’s a super douche move...especially to call out others as “whores” and then to do it yourself. Why are others whores? We don’t know their circumstance....maybe they aren’t trying to get what they paid, maybe they are trying to turn a profit to pay a medical bill...or maybe they just want more money than they paid? Maybe they overpaid too, does that make it more or less right? Does it really matter? You are either against the practice or you are not against the practice. Pretty f.cked up to call people a nasty name for doing something and then go out and do it yourself w some weak justification of overpaying...ok you overpaid, that makes it okay? To me, this practice of justifying is way douchier than just being a scalper...at least the scalpers own it.

I am all for separating the artist from the art, but these days people are defined by one douche move not a lifetime of doing good. Maybe going forward, dial back criticism of others if we are going to rationalize our behavior as ok but when others do it, it’s not ok....hypocrisy is probably the worst look.

Thanks for your comments. The person I was referring to when I made that comment makes videos specifically to hype pedals so they can sell them high flipped.
So yeah, now I'm a whore for trying to get back my money for stupidly buying high. Again, my bad. Not something I'm happy about. Not the same circumstance but everyone is entitled to their option.
As I stated in the video Kent is referring to I paid retail for a Bakfram and was selling to a friend for exactly the same. This is a different situation. I have never flipped pedals for big bucks. Ever. I've paid big bucks but like here, I regret it.

Thanks man. I know I grossly overpaid for the first one. Stupid.
But the last two on Reverb went for $450. in the last week so that sort of gets me close to what I paid.

Listing something at $800 compels others to do similar.

I've sold stuff for big profits and I'm not proud. At least I send the proceeds to other builders...

Trust me, and many others can back me up on this, the money with me goes to MANY other builders.

Again, not proud I paid $500 for it originally, at all, but since I couldn't get it direct from Knut I was weak. I tried. I really tried.

If I listed it for $500, or $550 even, I wouldn't get anywhere near that. I know. I have a great track record on Reverb and eBay.
776 feedback on Reverb and 634 on eBay so I think I speak from experience.

You can do what you wish. Won't bother me in the least. Not sure why it should bother anyone frankly.
The only thing that bothers me is people purposefully hyping stuff to sell it high which I have never done nor will ever do.
