So I ended up taking a week off of work even though I said I wouldn't. My reasoning was that my manager was already upset with me and was being mean, so why not. Not like it's going to change that at all. At least this way I'm protected by law.

The thing is the HR lady kind of threatened me, or at least it sounded like a threat of retaliation. She told me that Leadership (what they call their management team) is not happy with me right now and there would some making up to do on my end. She also told me that she hopes I appreciate how everyone has bent over backwards for me.

I don't get why the fuck they are so pissed at me! I didn't talk to my manager about this at all because 1. She doesn't seem like she gives a fuck about me to even respond to me when I ask her "how have you been" 2. I talked to my direct boss (department manager) about it and he said it's not a big deal.

So fucking annoying! So apparently I'm going to have to kiss their asses or they are going to treat me even worse? I'm so irritated right now. If not for the health insurance I'd tell them to go fuck themselves. I'm actively looking for another job and actually thinking of asking my dad's lawyer for some advice. I know they didn't technically do anything illegal, but getting counsel never hurts anything.

You have the gift of not giving a fuck though. If I were you, I would keep that job, do the job well enough to be left alone and keep my eyes on the prize of getting the Physical Trainer Certs. Healthcare is a big deal, I know you know that.

I've been looking into other companies and the best I've found is Time Warner cable, but I don't know if I want to do it. Being a Cable guy might be creepy...I dunno.

The pros of that job are

They start at what I make now, offer health insurance that cost about the same, give you free cable and internet, give you your own van to travel in, they pay overtime and bonuses, you get to pick your days off.

How longwould it take for the benefits to kick in? How long until you are woring as a personal trainer?

I was going to say fuck Time Warner. But that sounds like a pretty sweet gig. And I bet creepy cable guys totes get to see laydeez in skimpy pajamaz all the time. And "Oh Mr. Cable Man. I want FiOs but don't have any money to payyy."

See that's the other thing to factor in.

I'm going to graduate in March and hopefully have a job then. They actually help you find a job.

I'm just scared my manager is going to try and fire me.

Man...IF they fire you it cost them money. More likely is that they try to make so crappy that you quit...also you get unemployment if they fire you.
I know unemployment would suck though. It can't hurt to apply for the cable job.

Jumping back slightly to this conversation. I was in Scouts for 11 years, all the way from Cub Scouts to Eagle. Taught me a ton of things, and since I was a homeschooled kid, gave me a ton of interaction with peers that I desperately needed at the time, and it got me out into the woods, giving me a love of the outdoors. I still get twitchy if I haven't gone camping in a while. I love that feeling of being up early on a quiet morning with a cup of coffee in your hand, watching the world wake up around you.

Also, HOLY SHIT GOOD LUCK DELTA. Have fun, and get ready for a whirlwind of crazy and fun.

I assume you have a plan on how you wanna pop the question? I proposed almost two years ago, I had a blast planning the whole thing. Had to convince her to come out to the park that we would go take walks in, because it had gotten chilly, and she hates the cold. So I bought her a scarf, and told her if she went to the park with me, I'd give her a surprise. We get there, and I have her wait while I get something from the trunk, where I pull out the scarf and slip the ring into my jacket. So it caught her totally off guard when I pulled the ring out.

2 Dec is my mom's birthday...random Mudd trivia. And BIG GRATZ to Delta, and that's a nice looking ring!
