Since we talked about the Holly Grail nano yesterday.

I tried one today, thought it was weird that the hall setting was a bit delayed.. Maybe the ridiculously small amp they set up for me in the store though.

For a small board it packs a punch, very nice! Still miss my ghost disaster....

there is so many possibilities for spacey, ambient droning tooooaaaaanzzz with that beast, but I love that it can also be subtle, too.

RAD
I've never actually played one of those EHX Muffns though. Always though they were cool though.

Ampeg VT-22. My main dirt is a Turbo Rat, and sometimes I run an Algal Bloom after for extra craziness.
I was more wondering if the monarch could be used as a boost before the rat for leads and what not when I need volume.
I reeaaally like the Monarch demos I'm hearing, and imagine that could be cool, but maybe it's not suited for that?

I have the 2ube and Black Finger... I put some EHX tubes in the Finger and Sovteks in the 2ube and have been happy with both... I wanna try some 60's NOS of any kind...

Maybe one day, for now the timeline and space can do anything i would ever want or need. Would be perfect for the small downtempo / jazz / trip-hop board i want to build eventually.

How much output does the monarch have?
Would it be a good overdrive/boost?
A heavy boost, but like, still a volume boost.
Suitable for that sort of a thing?

The output is just stupidly huge. I have it on 2-3 right now and it's PLENTY.
Yes, its an amazingly natural sounding overdrive/boost. One of the most natural sounding overdrives I've heard when pushed.
It's a heavy boost, it adds a lot of balls, but at the same time, a shit ton of clarity. It's fucking awesome.
