Yeah I saw that about Pygmy Lush! I like the acoustic stuff but feel like that last record was the pinnacle of it, pretty happy to hear them play some loud stuff now.
Not that I remember, some of those shows were kinda "hazy"....
I'm happy as well, after seeing the PG.99 reunion show I knew that they still had it in them to be loud and that they craved it, but they also made it rather clear that there would never be a true reunion. But PL going loud, sounds like winnah to me!

Thanks guys! I love it. It's a keeper for sure.
Oddly enough... took it to my tech today to look at.. he said it's made out of maple, not alder.
I read that they started doing alder instead of maple in 1975, the serial number on the headstock dates to 1976....

So this was an interesting project and turned out awesome. This was a buddy of mine and seeing how great it sounds and plays, I'm most likely going to be doing the same.
It started life as a Fender modern player jazz. They introduced this model about a year ago, and it seemed to be exactly what I wanted.... a jazz with humbuckers.
It's made overseas, slightly lighter in weight, and totally passive. There's several dealers on ebay that buy these instruments in bulk and part them out, so he just bought the body fully loaded without a neck.
A stock pic and the actual body....

He added a Moses graphite neck and John East Retro J deluxe preamp with passive tone control. He had to drill the hole in the side of the body for the new input jack.
Battery box was intentionally left out since unscrewing 3 screws to change the 9 volt is not a big deal.
Here it is finished....
It is totally badass.

god dammnit I was thinking about getting one of these for the project I am in now. It would be perfect because I love fenders but I ain't tryna play single coils.

It really is a sick bass. I think it came out to under 1K but sounds and feels like twice the price.
I'm most likely going to do the same except use the Retro J without the passive tone since I have no use for it. Later on I'll add a graphite neck if it's a keeper.
