Damn, I don't have a clue what all those things do but it looks awesome! And I'm sure it sounds awesome too. Meanwhile, I'm keeping it real (crappy cellphone pic):

Critter & Guitari Pocket Piano GR -> Ampeg Sub Blaster -> Blowing Up -> Rat -> Alesis Akira (for teh verbz).
Had a lot of fun with this setup!

I don't think I can wait long enough for the sub 37...
what's the deal with "PE" editions of DSI synths? I don't know what "PE" stands for.
PE stands for Potentiometer Edition, better pots essentially. DSI stuff sounds good, is quirky and seems to have half-baked OS implementation. I am not saying don't buy, just know what you are getting into.
I have owned a Tempest and Tetra.
I 70% loved the Tempest and 30% loathed it. The Tetra was cool but got sold for modular because once you start with that…

i find myself using the "red" first mode so incredibly much because it's the only mode that can really do chords, the rest is cool and all but CHORDS. so sweet.
btw have you tried going lower than the tuning button allows in red mode with the pitch vibrato? turn the pitch depth all the way up with rate all the way down - then slowly turn rate up slightly and it'll start flying off - and then turn rate back down to 0 and the pitch will stay there. fucking sub-atomic dude.
Didn't know that trick! Definitely trying that out tomorrow, thanks! Good bass sounds was the one thing I hoped to get out of it that I didn't yet accomplish, although I did get some decent sounds with the sub blaster or a dod buzz box. I also use the white mode (mono glider) a lot with glide about halfway and no detune at all and at the highest pitch with huge reverb to crank out some oriental/eastern sounding melodies. Green mode is great for some ultra cheesy pop tunes I think.
It is just such a great toy!

I ordered a Korg littlebits last week and It was in the mail yesterday. I don't know whether any of you already post anything about it.
tiny little circuit boards that can be connected with magnets
http://littlebits.cc/kits/synth-kitIt comes with a nice leaflet addressing the history and feature of a modular synth.

My 4-year old son likes it so far.

anyone want to tell me more about this?
I'm a little put off by the limited amounts of knobs. I've read a few old (like old...) threads about OS problems, have these been sorted?
Why is the keyboard version 500$ more then the desktop (seems excessive??) compared to the great price of the module.
if I do get the module, can I easily program an Akai MPk49 knobs/sliders to control parameters in the Blofeld?

I'm no expert but i own the keyboard version and it's pretty well priced considering how solid and well built it is, and the keyboard is very nice to play.
The knobs are a bummer, it takes a bit of menu diving to program and the encoders are prone to failure, my system volume knob is completely shot. I haven't tried using other devices to control parameters on it.
Very very very nice but simultaneously annoying piece of gear

See if you can try one out before buying to see if its for you. I think it's best suited to a recording/production environment, you can pull a ridiculous variety of sounds out of it with a bit of time spent programming.

The blofeld is a great sounding piece of gear but it's user interface was frustrating and not the way I wanted to work. If your ok with menu diving to great a sound it could work fantastically for you. I ended up sampling a bunch of sounds off mine and flipping it.

since you sampled your blofeld, could you have gotten those results from a softsynth? it is all digital afterall.
It seems like a great package at 500$, but with all digital and menu diving...
even if it is more powerful then my nord lead 3 I don't think it'll supplement/compliment it much.
So considering I want to something to compliment the nord, I'm back to wanting the Voyager. a moog will always keep it's value.
I might eventually replace the nord with the prophet 12, but I want the voyager first.
just got to sell an SVT head and I'll pull the trigger.
do dealers deal on Voyagers? (everywhere the listed price is the same, and it seems like enough of a big ticket item for them not to bother budging...)
worst case is I order it out of province (I'm in monteal) and only pay 5% GST (vs 15% locally), still a bitch on my wallet at 3500$.
if I could get it at 3000$ that' be sweeeeeet, or 3500 for the voyager with one of the CV out box (VX-351)
I don't think I'll even come across a 2nd hand one, so no point in waiting for that.
and oh man is this going to be a money pit, opening the doors to modular. my poor wallet.

I'm sure you could find a combination of softsynths and other vsts to get you that sound. I haven't but I haven't really looked either.

Hey everyone, here is an okay pic of what I'm currently using. I should get some better pics... Anyways, I have an Akai MPK49 keyboard and a Novation MiniNova Synth.

After going to the Moog Factory (I will put pics up later today, I got home last night), I have a SUPER BONER for a Voyager! They are around used, even if you get one off eBay, you can get them for $2500. Pretty worth it to save that much. I missed a Voyager XL by a day, dude was selling for $3000!!!!!! I would have sold some shit to pay that off. Anyways, I played with a regular Voyager and the XL for quite awhile in the Moog Store, that XL with the patchbay on the front makes it just a bit better than a Voyager with the VX-351 and CP-251, a few more patch points and that ribbon

But out of league at new prices.
Sub37 will be out in May. I meant to ask the service people about CV out mods for it but got sidetracked talking about Elektron and Modular synths with one of the service people and the tour left me behind. I had to scramble to catch them
