If you buy a CXM then you also need to get a neon sign with your fake name to hang in your bedroom.

Thing is tempting... I get tempted by it every now and then... but... I question things like:
Is a pedal version just mostly gimmick/expensive toy?
Will it sound better than older lexicon rack unit you can pick up cheep?
What is the noise floor?
What is the cost trade-off between looks/flying faders vs the actual sounds?
Are those sliders a good idea for function or is this just looks?
The thing seems so nostalgia / trendyvintage / driven compared to a useful tool that it's hard to gauge unless you get to demo one yourself... :idk:

I can't see any reverb pedal or device being worth $900. To me anyway.

The first thing I said when I heard about this was "why wouldn't I just buy a vintage rack unit if I wanted this EXACT SOUND?". I think the market for people who really want THIS SPECIFIC REVERB is gonna be tiny. But the people who want things with motorised sliders go brrrrr is probably higher :idk:

oscillofuzz wrote:So, this being the expensive reverbs thread, did anyone preorder a CXM 1978? I almost considered returning my Zoia and preordering one but then realized importing a $900 pedal after shipping and taxes is almost a €1100 pedal and the Zoia is a lot more versatile at half the price. Maybe I could justify it if I actually did studio work but alas I don't...
If it don't drip, it won't sit. The fader game is pretty cool, and allegedly the thing is P versatile, but I don't have first hand experience

Whens that light pedal coming out?

Forgot about that one. The demos made me the most interested in spring reverb that I’ve been in years, which kind of understates it.

I could never justify buying it because of the price, but even if i would my fear of motorized sliders fucking up at some point would stop me anyways.
I hate sliders. Considering how i play/use/carry around my board the chances of dirt getting in the holes and crateing problems are too damn high - and i say it cause i've been - and i'm still - using two pedals with sliders since forever.

900 buckachoonies?! I've seen proper plates for that money. Here I am thinking I can't afford buying a quadraverb

m8 I wouldn't buy a plate for $900. They're like £2 at IKEA
