That would look rad with a tort guard. I really don't like pearl pickguards though.

hnnnnnnng. deep blue with pearl is, by contrast, one of my favorite combinations.

I like the dark blue a lot but I just really can't get behind that pearl.
If I was handed the guitar though, I would absolutely not say no.

That would look awesome if it had pearl blocks like that one year of jazz basses, just sayin! Also I really dig that they do orange guitars now. I absolutely adore the duo-sonic in that color

Seriously getting super attached from just looking at pics. I have always wanted a duo-sonic. I'm worried that if I get one I'll put a kahler ans lace sensors on it though...

I went to a few different stores last summer in Nashville, and kept picking up the orange duo. Had a hard time convincing myself to not buy one

. I need more time plugged in with one though. Might want to swap pups, like you said. Which on one hand, might defeat part of what people like about them...but

Fender Japan is the best part of Fender. Actually giving the people what they want? Unthinkable!
I've got a 90's MIJ tele that I don't think I could ever part with, nicest Fender I ever played.

i've never had a whole Japanese Fender, but i have a CIJ '56 Strat neck on my partsocaster that's quite excellent...i don't think i've had to adjust the truss rod for about ten years.

My MIJ Stratocaster is from about '87. This is the best electric guitar that I ever held in my hands. And I was working in a music shop and I was fortunate to test a few real nice vintage axes as well as good modern instruments over the years.

As far as I've understood it's just strat pickups but flat poles. I don't really have a reference to how they are supposed to sound. The school guitar aesthetic is really appealing though. Also like could you mess up a pair of single coils that much?
Atleast it makes you look like a real twang bar king!
