I managed to buy a KORG X-911 today. And the Trident is up and running again since a few weeks. Two gear goals accomplished already!Pepe wrote:1) Do an ass-kicking demo with my KORG 800DV in combination with the Copilot fx Broadcast.
2) Finally fix my KORG Trident (lovely 8 voice analog synth/brass/string beast).
3) Do an ass-kicking demo with my KORG Trident in combination with the Copilot fx Broadcast.
4) Record other pedal and synth demos.
5) Finally do a BOSS SYB-3 demo that I wanted to do for many years!
6) Purchase a KORG X-911 Guitar Synthesizer (hopefully!).
7) Finish the KORG vintage effects website that I have in progress for over a year.
Scratch that, I ended up getting a DeepMind 12 instead and I am very, very glad I did.rfurtkamp wrote:Honestly not sure.
Maybe one of the Behringer Moog things that's due out.
I got everything and then some on my '17 list (and will be paying for one of the guitars most of the year).
I've managed to acquire the Arpanoid and the second Count To 5 already, plus a few othersPaul_C wrote:My top three pedals to try and add to the pile in 2018 are, in reverse order3) EQD Arpanoid 2) EQD Data Corrupter 1) Count To Five #2.
There are another 33 on my wishlist, but the last pedal to arrive here wasn't on it, so it's also possible that my 2019 top three will be the same as above and I'll have bought 10 pedals not on the list.
Last night I foolishly strayed from the path into the wonderful world of UC and Simon The Magpie's self-built noise making pedals, so as well as buying off the shelf pedals I'd like to have a go at making something along the lines of the Scrap Yard and the Door Stop pedals.
I don't have the knowledge to do any circuit bending, but I can drill holes and bolt things together without too much drama

Layaway been settled. Rack game leveled up.rustywire wrote: 2018 gear goals:

Elektron Octarack II
Fix/repair longstanding keepers and either keep it move'n or move them
Fix rgb monitor
Excavate remaining childhood game consoles out of storage, recap as needed; play with old friends
TR-909 [yeah, right]
Currently working on my recording skills, doing recording sessions for my friends bands.ognoy wrote:Buying gear:
Pladask Fabrikat
New predirt reverb(probably a Holy Grail) DONE. 2 RV-3s. Non of them pre-dirt though, but as only verbs on the board(s).
Sampler
Behringer Model D-clone
Studio gear(mics, preamps, outboard gear)
Reel-to-reel
Get a backup baritone. Prolly a Squier. Sort of DONE, converting the telemaster to a baritone
Fix/DIY:
Change the nut on the telemaster. CHANGED THE NECK INSTEAD.
Add Bigsby to telemaster DONE
Mod the Traynor TS-25 so I can hook it up to my big cabs. DONE
Maybe get a Mastery-trem and bridge for the Puresalem Reverberation.
Upgrade my lapsteel with a Deusenberg Multi bender. DONE
Musical stuff:
Get better at recording and mixing.
Record and release another solo album
Record and release an album with my new duo, Old Believers.
Finish and release the new Solstorm album(90% done now).
Play more drone/noise/experimental gigs.
Spend less time looking at gear on the interwebs and spend more time playing and making music.
I expected to be a lot more disappointed with myself when I was looking for my post.coldbrightsunlight wrote:1) improve modular setup but without going too wild (definitely doing alright on this, taking it slow, made more money from sales than I've bought so far this year)
2) don't buy any pedals unless I also sell one (this might allow for one or two exceptions lol let's be honest) (- doing... sort of OK on this?)
3) new bass cab![]()
4) 12 string electric?
5) make and release a lot more music (getting closer to recording an acceptable amount, still work to do!)
I own both a V4 and two 800rb’s, for normal bass use, GK all day. It takes dirt and pedals so well. The V4 runs out of headroom almost too quickly with bass.ognoy wrote:Currently working on my recording skills, doing recording sessions for my friends bands.ognoy wrote:Buying gear:

Regarding studio gear I have bought a Heil Sound PR-40, Cubase 9.5 and a new audio interface.
Still waiting for the Fabrikat to be released.
Not sure if I need a sampler, but I'd love to play with a Octatrack. We'll see.
Not sure about the Behringer synth as well, cause now I got a couple of synths available in our studio.
One thing I need to add to my gear goals is a new bass head. Not sure if I'll go SS(like an older GK) or tube(really want a V4).

Also more moments like a week ago when I suddenly found a ton of sounds in the pedals I grew too used to. Keep surprising them so they surprise me. Maybe get my board a bunch of flowers for valentine's.
