More evidence that D.o.S. is the Jerry of ILF.

I wish I could have sampled the sound of that reference flying over my head.

I am afraid I may disappoint you if you ever make it to one of our meetups, depending on how many penises you've seen.

Noice. That's a great price for a DS. If you can swing it, I'd go for it. Life's too short and it sounds like something you've been looking forward to for awhile. Besides, you'd probably have zero trouble moving it, especially if you're part of the initial run.
Imma wait a bit longer and see what's up. Might try to get a dealer discount if impressions are positive.
I'm going for it. I like the sounds and I think it "looks" cools (graphics). I already have the cash in a sock so wtf why not.
UglyCasanova wrote:It's very pretty-sounding (#AmbientNotes), but where are all the fat, thumping bass, gritty synth sounds at?

I think there are so many of those already on the market. I don't know, like I said, I have synths that do that so I'm really getting this more as, Ruiner will say, an additional tool. I do like the two channels of sustain as well. That is something my Mono synths cannot do.
Ruiner wrote:y'alls is nuts. This is going to rule. I'm not a huge fan of the sound it creates itself but I think the magic is going to be in pairing this with other pedals. It's like a badass toolbox. Get drones out of pedals you never could before with the infinite sustain. The poly modes with note layering will be siiiick. The glitch mode, while sounding bleh, has a plethora (yes, plethora) of options. The swell only when you stop playing is going to inspire some creative ways of playing. Looping waveforms!! The storing of Glitch B into 6 segments that can be recalled with the Dimension knob is pretty damn cool as well as being able to recall them with an expression pedal. The chorus and vibrato stuff with the Swell feature is hella useful.
Agreed. Although I do like the sounds. As said, I don't have (or know of) a pedal with these envelope options.
I also agree with everyone on the top jacks and size. I don't really operate with a board in mind.
The best part of all this discussion is...I may not like it once I start using it.

It's okay if you like it, dude, you don't have to justify it
I'm just being a dick. I'll probably eat my own words once I hear what you all do with it.
Also, DoS is on a roll.

Absolutely not. Never thought that! I was just trying to articulate, albeit poorly, that I don't care for things like, for example, a Pigtronix Mothership. A lot of synth pedals that do that tracking your signal and using another oscillator I think are redundant in my gear collection. It's not that I don't like the sounds, I just think that the only reason people are so into those is because they came out before 2013 ergo things like a minibrute, ms-20 mini, anything Korg has done since 2015, did not exist, I.e. Affordable monosynths. I mostly have Korg stuff so I am inundated with the ms-20 filter ergo the last thing I need is a pedal that does that.
Incidentally, I have one of those, envelope filter pedal based on ms-20 filter, coming in the mail. I can't escape.
I actually was going to pm you at one point to see if you knew of an envelope shaper pedal because of this pedal.

I do see your (and Teej's) point. It is very unique sounding, and I would probably jump on it ASAP if I weren't trying to only have pedals I use in the band, because I'd love to zone out to this thing.
I know little to nothing about filters and things that shape waveforms. They generally sound cool, but I don't use them because they scare me a bit.

Well I know nothing about Spin Chips so I'm just a Jolly Dunce....
Also, you have a Pretty Years which has a low pass filter. Not sure what design they used...maybe their own?

Do you still have the Dream Filter?
Sorry if I'm blowing up the thread with posts but, the date for pre-orders is out now so no one should be using this for the latest news.
If this was the Outward thread I would feel terrible.

Seriously. I love side jacks.
I'll agree to this as well.
Top mounted jacks limit what you can place above a pedal. Let's say you have a large pedal like this and you want it to be on the bottom tier, well when you go to put something above the fucker, you've got to take into account the jacks and the damn expression pedal. Most expression pedal cables I've used are not pedal board friendly and take up much more room, so you always loose space.
Plus with side mounts, it forces you to give the pedal a tiny bit of room everyone seems to need when stomping on the shit.
I can do it no matter what but I hear folks bitch about it constantly.
Not all of us want everything top mounted guys!!
Also, who gives a fuck. If it sounds good, you'll figure out how to make it work.
I'm extremely excited for this. I'm going to miss the first run unfortunately but hopefully I can catch the second or third. No biggie.
