That is unless they're paying royalties to the copyright holder.

I once knew this band who bought a painting from an artist. Then they thought because they owned the painting they could use its image for an album cover. They were sadly mistaken.
In the cases I was thinking of, I'm positive that they weren't paying royalties. But :idk: Yeah, there can be tricky issues. Like, if a piece of artwork is public domain, but someone claims copyright of a photograph of that artwork. I've paid galleries on two occasions for use of their photographs of famous art (and they were decent to work with, but I prefer to work with artists directly, and always give per-sale cuts).

There should just be a special run done of it. Make it sound more racist and then make it free if you're American, you only have to pay for it if you're Mexican.
